Denzel Washington Has A Sweet Spot For These Häagen-Dazs Flavors
Plenty of actors capture our attention, but few keep it for as long as Denzel Washington, who's been lauded as the greatest actor of the 21st century by The New York Times. Credited with "reconfiguring the concept of classic movie stardom" by film historian Donald Bogle (per The Cine- Files), and praised as the best acting teacher around by fellow actor Tom Hanks, Washington is one of the incredible talents that we can't help but swoon over in all his films from the civil rights-era period dramas to action-packed adventures.
But just because he doesn't shy away from the camera doesn't mean the man's an open book. The 67-year-old Academy Award-winning movie star and director is full of surprises. Did you know he wanted to be a doctor before discovering his passion for acting, or that he received martial arts training from a student of Bruce Lee?
While the seriousness of Washington's work ethic might lead you to believe he's just as rigorous about his nutrition as he is his career, it turns out the actor enjoys the sweet things in life just as much as the next person. When asked about his favorite snack in a Reddit chat, Madamenoire reports that Washington ranked his top-three flavors of Häagen-Dazs ice cream.
Three flavors can satisfy Denzel's sweet tooth
Madamenoire shares that, based on his answer in the Reddit chat, Denzel Washington has a special place in his heart for Häagen-Dazs' Cherry Vanilla, Chocolate, and Butter Pecan flavors (in that order). According to Häagen-Dazs' website, Washington's top choice is made with "sun-ripened" black cherries folded into the brand's signature Madagascar vanilla ice cream. "Super creamy, plenty of fruit and not too sweet," wrote one reviewer, echoed by another who applauded the "pieces of real cherries" in the purple-hued treat.
Washington's second choice, Chocolate, requires no explanation. As one of Bronx-founded ice cream companies' three original flavors (which also included Vanilla and Coffee), chocolate ice cream is as classic as classic gets. As for his third-favorite Häagen-Dazs flavor, we imagine the actor agrees with the reviewer who wrote that Butter Pecan – made with "buttery roasted pecans folded into velvety sweet cream" — is what he reaches for when he's in the mood for "something different."
