The Chick-Fil-A Sandwich Debate Reddit Is Settling Once And For All
The internet is the place to go to get debates started. People will run to the online community to resolve arguments over lemon-lime gatorade, the correct order to eat at Five Guys, and even whether or not cereal is actually a soup. Without the internet and social media, these issues might never have been properly addressed, and people would be left wondering the correct answer.
It was clearly in the spirit of hoping to resolve controversy that one person took to Reddit in order to find consensus on what type of Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich is better. The options they presented were the Spicy Deluxe sandwich and the Grilled Chicken Club. These two sandwiches have some major differences, according to Chick-fil-A's website. The Grilled Club is grilled (naturally) and the chicken used is not breaded. It's served on a brioche bun and includes bacon. The Spicy Deluxe has a breaded chicken breast on a buttered bun. Both come with a choice of cheese and have comparable calorie counts at approximately 500 calories and change. Unfortunately, only one can be the best (according to the internet).

Debates online can often get pretty heated, even when the topic is fairly innocuous. One need only think back to the time when people online were embattled over what has become known as "The Dress." During that massive debate, which Junkee calls "The Last Good Moment On The Internet," people fought tooth and nail over whether a dress was blue and black or white and gold. Fortunately, the Chick-fil-A fans of Reddit were far more polite and logical.
"Spicy Deluxe (with Zesty buffalo or Polynesian sauce) > Grilled club > Regular Chicken sandwich," said one mathematically-minded commenter. Another person said they actually changed their vote, explaining, "I'v been a deluxe man for a long time ... but today I had the club for the first time ... I agree, I think that grilled chicken is the bomb dot com." For others, it wasn't a question of choice, but comfort. "Club. My insides try to murder me if I eat spicy," lamented someone.
It seems the original poster wasn't alone in their love for heat, because in the end, the Spicy Deluxe won handily. It had both the most commenters suggesting it, and those who recommended it received the most upvotes by far. It was also ranked higher than the Grilled Club in an official stand off. So ends another online fight.
