The Mixed Reputation Of Kid Rock's Big A** Honky Tonk & Rock 'N' Roll Steakhouse

Musician and celebrity Kid Rock can be a polarizing individual. He has vociferously avowed his support for controversial political figure Donald Trump, even going so far as opening his shows with a video message from the former president. Regardless of how people feel about Kid Rock's music, you would be hard-pressed to pick a more divisive person to kickstart your concert.

On the other hand, the entertainer has also expressed his willingness to toss back a brew with former President Barack Obama, who Kid Rock referred to as cool, even though he didn't approve of Obama's policies or vote for him (via The Hill). This admission probably didn't sit well with many of his fans either.

Perhaps it should come as no surprise then that one of Kid Rock's entrepreneurial endeavors, a venue with the unassuming, low-key name of Big A** Honky Tonk & Rock N' Roll Steakhouse, has a mixed reputation with patrons.

Kid Rock's venue garners mixed reactions

The Big A** Honky Tonk & Rock N' Roll Steakhouse is located in the heart of downtown Nashville, Tenn., a place known for its music, bachelorette parties, gaudiness, and general revelry. It actually seems like the perfect fit for a Kid Rock establishment. And a number of people on Yelp and Google have raved about their experiences there.

One glowing 5-star Yelp review (via Loudwire) heaped effusive praise, stating that it had "everything you could have ever wanted...live music, cold beer, beautiful women." A satisfied Google reviewer characterized it as "very Kid Rock inspired. The layout was awesome. Would definitely recommend it." But, they also included a helpful warning: "It's loud. If that's not your thing, this might not be the place for you." Not everyone has left Kid Rock's honky tonk a happy customer though. Another Yelp reviewer gave it one star, reciting in vivid detail how they witnessed the unsanitary act of a bartender peeling the skin from her shoulder only to let a customer lick it off her finger, then watched in horror as she "grabbed a lime and put it in a beer." One disappointed Instagrammer (via BuzzFeed) slammed Big A** Honky Tonk as "By far, the worst celebrity-run restaurant in Nashville."

So, there you have it. Depending on what you're looking for in a Nashville music and food joint, Kid Rock's place either has everything you could possibly desire or it's an unmitigated disaster.
