How To Get Free Wendy's Chicken Nuggets
In an attempt to boost sales during the COVID-19 pandemic, many fast food chains are turning to handing out free food in an attempt to encourage customers to patronize their locations, as reported by The Street. The most recent company to join this marketing experiment is popular chain Wendy's.
The company temporarily closed 46 of its U.S. locations, as well as 189 restaurants spread out across the rest of the world, due to COVID-19. Wendy's sales were doing well at the beginning of the year, but dropped 20 percent the third week of March, when most of the location's seating areas had to be closed.
On Friday, April 24, 2020, Wendy's will be giving away free four-piece chicken nuggets to everyone who arrives at their drive-thru windows. The company is referring to this promotion as a "GroupNug," a play on the phrase group hug.
How to score Wendy's free nuggets promotion
Newsweek notes there is no purchase necessary to score a free four-piece of the spicy or crispy chicken nuggets — all you have to do is show up at the drive-thru of your local Wendy's location. Penn Live reports that, while there are no strings attached to this promotion, there are restrictions. The free nugget promotion will begin at 10:30 AM, and has a limit of one free four-piece order per car, while supplies last.
According to Fox, Wendy's says this promotional move was inspired by their staff members who have been going "above and beyond" helping out in their communities. In a press release, Wendy's states that their teams have been showing how they are living one of the company's main values, "Do the Right Thing," and the chain wants to recognize and show their appreciation for their crew members' caring actions during this stressful time.
Wendy's blog, The Square Deal, is highlighting the good deeds being done across the globe by members of the Wendy's family if you are interested in learning more about the outreach that inspired this free chicken nugget promotion.
