Chili's New Margarita Deal Makes The Election Less Stressful

Stressed out by the election? Sheesh, who isn't this year? You're probably bombarded with a constant stream of political spam texts and robocalls telling you to "get out the vote" (yes, thanks, 10 reminders a day will more than suffice) as well as celebrities of all stripes repeating the same platitudes about how you and only you can save Christmas, or Democracy, or something. And that's not even to mention the actual political ads which get more and more vicious as E-Day draws nearer ... Ok, we get it, absolutely everybody running for every office from Hoboken Board of Ed to POTUS is secretly a rabid were-orangutan with an addiction to eating Silly Putty. There's no such thing as good election news ... or is there?

Why yes, there is, and it comes courtesy of Chili's. Forget about red vs. blue, think green instead! No, not green as in campaign contributions or even greenhouse gases (the planet is likely heating up as we speak due to all the hot air from political rhetoric), but green as in margaritas. Specifically, Chili's Presidente Margaritas, which are now on sale right through election night (when we'll all likely be needing more than a few).

The El Presidente deal

Chili's announced a special price of $5 for their Presidente margarita, something that Money indicates is usually priced closer to $7. This is considered Chili's flagship cocktail and is made with Sauza Conmemorativo tequila, PatrĂ³n CitrĂ³nge orange liqueur, and Presidente brandy. Vinepair describes it as "sweet and boozy with a little lime and rock salt on the rim," although says there's "not too much tequila, lime, or salt [but] mostly just sweet."

Still, a little sweetness may be what we're all craving during this dark and doom-laden election season, and come election night there will be very little sweetness (or light) available via the news reports. Might as well spend election night huddled in front of the TV in a Chili's bar. Although if you prefer to weep bitter tears at home, Chili's is also offering these margaritas to go (and hey, according to Vinepair, they could use a little salt, anyway). For each order, you'll get a limited-edition "Margarita Party" edition of the "I Voted" sticker, and if you share a pic of you and your drink on Chili's social media, you could win more Margarita Party merch, free Chili's meals, or even your own margarita machine. So, you know, at least there's that to look forward to, no matter what the election itself may bring.
