Habit Burger Just Announced Its Entry Into The Chicken Sandwich Wars

Unless you are someone who doesn't consume fast food or you live a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle, chances are that you've heard of the ongoing chicken sandwich war raging between some of today's most popular establishments. Meat + Poultry reports that this delicious war of sorts all began thanks to a beef (pardon the pun) between Popeyes and Chick-fil-A. Since then, establishments like Checkers, Rally's, Golden Chick, Zaxby's, and KFC have introduced their own takes on the chicken sandwich all in an effort to get a little piece of the metaphorical pie.

Even national restaurant chains have jumped in. Restaurant Business reveals that Outback Steakhouse's virtual restaurant concept, Tender Shack, has a chicken sandwich of its own that the company hopes will catch the attention of chicken sandwich aficionados everywhere. The latest company to throw its hat in the proverbial chicken sandwich ring is none other than the Santa Barbara sweetheart The Habit Burger Grill (via Chew Boom).

The Habit releases new chicken sandwich and chicken bites

Chew Boom reports that The Habit Burger Grill had been testing their latest additions to their menu at select locations in Cypress, California, in September. The new Crispy Chicken Sandwich is said to be made with all-natural chicken breast that has been double-breaded and flavored with a trademark blend of spices. It will be topped with tomato, lettuce, mayo, and pickles, all sandwiched between a toasted bun. Their restaurant's Crispy Chicken Bites follow suit and also boast double breading and signature spices. Customers will have the option of pairing them with BBQ or Ranch sauce.

The PeepThisOut! YouTube channel conducted a review of the new sandwich, which they purchased for $7.50, and said that the chicken patty was incredibly flavorful. The YouTube reviewer also noted that the chicken indeed looked like it had been double breaded and although the patty was not thick, it was wide and covered the entire bun (ensuring you got some in every bite).
