This Is The Secret To Guy Fieri's Marriage
Guy Fieri's marriage to his wife of over 25 years Lori began as love at first sight. He shared with Delish, "I knew as soon as I saw her. I just knew." Funnily enough, though, Lori's first impression of Guy wasn't great, as she was defending her friend who had just been let go from a restaurant Guy was running.
Luckily, the culinary mogul was able to quickly win her over by kindness and — you guessed it — food. "The first time I cooked for her, she was just like, 'You made all this?' We both love food, so being able to cook, that was one of the things that impressed her," he explained to Delish.
In the years since, the couple have ridden the waves of success, failure, and celebrity status together, and Guy credits wife with supporting him throughout every wild idea and new venture, such as creating a pop-up diner on a cruise ship. "My wife and I have gone from being married at a young age to being where we are now — to get here, you have to be willing to adapt and understand," said Fieri. "It's all compromise and understanding."
It's clear that these two are happy, but a mutual understanding is only one part of making their marriage work.
The Fieri family stays close-knit
The Fieri family definitely seems close and caring, and we have to believe that being a great dad and husband is definitely another key to a happy marriage. In the past, Guy himself has shared plenty of pics of his wife and family doing fun activities together. Although this year saw the pandemic, which put a damper on many plans, last summer he shared a fun-filled set of images from a family trip.
His caption read, "The Fieri Family hit the trails this week! [mountain emoji] These shots are from our hiking trips in Prospect and Bend, Oregon. Beautiful waterfalls and hiking trails in Prospect. Lava Caves and river surfing in Bend. Great times all around!" (via Instagram). In fact, he even created a show called Guy's Family Road Trip so they could all be together!
In addition to spending quality time as a family, we can guess that another secret to Guy Fieri's happy marriage may also be the fact that he's just a really good person in general. During the coronavirus pandemic, the Food Network host raised $21.5 million in a matter of seven weeks to help support the restaurants hit hardest by health closures (via Newsweek). The article reported that comedian Patton Oswalt praised Fieri as a "ridiculously good human who walks it like he talks it."
