Aldi Shoppers Swear By These Reusable Produce Savers

There's a new product at Aldi that's really turning heads, and it can likely help you cut back on your use of plastic and kitchen waste, too! On the first day of January, two popular Instagram users spotted the new produce saver pods on Aldi shelves and shared them with their followers. Both Aldi fan Instagram profiles @theamazingaldi and @aldi.mademedoit alerted the public to the Crofton brand stretch pods, saying that they might be able to pick up on their next trip to the budget-friendly grocery store.

When the pods first appeared, @theamazingaldi captioned their post, "Happy New Year's Eve all of you beautiful people! I saved my entire sparkling wine New Year's countdown for tonight so you might not hear from me for a while!!!! Stay safe!" @aldi.mademedoit, on the other hand, evoked The Little Mermaid and announced, "We've got gadgets and gizmos aplenty! No really @aldiusa always brings out the things we never think about like containers for the leftover veggies!! Who else loves grabbing all the fun kitchen gadgets?!" With that, commenters quickly responded to voice their favorites among the options.

Here's what people are saying about these neat produce savers

The stretch pods appear to be available in sizes fit for lemons, onions, avocados, and tomatoes. Essentially, they are silicon lids that preserve any leftover produce you may (via Aldi). Each pod retails for $3.99, and they seem to be pretty durable, according to some of the comments on the posts. "I got them. They work so well I have been using them for a week and I don't baby them at all," one commenter wrote.

As soon as the posts hit Instagram, people were excited to share their thoughts on the new-to-Aldi product. One person said, "I have the onion one. I bought mine at Marshalls a few months back and I love it!" Another wrote, "These are amazing! Got the onion, lemon, and tomato." Another user opted for the avocado pod and said they were looking forward to using it.

Apparently, some Aldi stores have already sold out of these intriguing pods, according to one commenter that said, "Need more in my store!" Clearly it's a buy people think will pay off. One commenter said, "I feel like I am going to regret not picking these up yesterday! The drawer organizer and workout mat took up my Aldi Finds budget, though." Another sprung for the avocado pod in the hopes that it would help keep the fruit from turning brown.
