The Reason Giada De Laurentiis Doesn't Believe In Dieting

Celebrity Giada De Laurentiis is a culinary superstar without a doubt. And with this type of job where you're surrounded by food and almost always in the spotlight, questions about favorite and least favorite foods as well as dietary habits often come your way. De Laurentiis isn't afraid to speak her mind about what she eats, and she has proven that she's as human as the rest of us.

For starters, she loves chocolate (who doesn't?) and she also has a few things she really dislikes eating, including coconuts and green peppers. She explained to People that while she dislikes the appearance of the latter, she simply doesn't enjoy the flavor of coconuts and rarely uses them in her recipes.

The Italian chef also has a very opinionated take when it comes to regulating what you eat and restricting certain food groups that's bound to be relatable for many of her fans. Intrigued? Here is what De Laurentiis really thinks about diets. Hint: she's not a fan.

De Laurentiis likes to enjoy things in reasonable amounts

According to Cheatsheet, the chef doesn't shy away from accepting the idea that dieting simply doesn't work for her. She offers a glimpse into her experiences in her book Giada's Feel Good Food and writes, "I just don't believe in them [diets] for me." She adds that she thinks they're just too restrictive and end up making her feel like she's depriving herself. Also, the chef reckons that diets tend to leave you feeling stuck in a rut.

So if dieting is a no-no, how does De Laurentiis take care of herself? Easy, she enjoys everything in moderation. Her advice is really simple: "Eat a little of everything, but not a lot of anything." Makes sense if you think about it. This way, you're not completely cutting yourself off from tasty treats, but you can also ensure you're getting all the nutrients you need.
