The Snack Carrie Underwood Always Keeps In Her Purse

When life is busy, it never hurts to have snacks on hand for the moments when you need an energy boost. However, those who follow any kind of dietary restrictions have to do some planning ahead of time to know which handy snacks meet those restrictions. Carrie Underwood is among the dietary restricted who always keeps snacks in her purse. She's vegetarian and typically follows a vegan diet the majority of the time because she is lactose intolerant and wants to be a full-time vegan (via Taste of Country).

That does not stop her from keeping delicious and nutritious snacks around the house and taking them on the go. "I'm always making muffins or something like that to keep around," Underwood told Self. She also loves pea protein bars and peanut butter on an English muffin when she needs a snack. While protein bars might sound like a great on-the-go snack, it isn't actually the option she keeps her purse stocked with, though.

Carrie Underwood loves her cereal

Another one of Carrie Underwood's favorite snacks is cereal, according to Self. She loves one brand in particular, but she does not keep it in her purse as a snack for herself alone. It's also a convenient trick for the times when her son gets munchy, too. "I've always got cereal on me like Kashi, because it's healthy and my son likes it too, so if I just always have it in my purse then we're always good," Underwood said. "I have snacks on me all the time. I don't ever want to be hungry, I hate being hungry," she added. The best thing about cereal is that you do not have to worry about it spoiling while you are on the move. The worst thing that could happen would be that the cereal gets a little crushed.

So if you are experimenting with a new vegan diet and need a snack to keep you fueled throughout the day, you might want to take this tip from Underwood. Even if you are not vegan, it's a handy way to keep snacks on hand and even avoid extra packaging that is characteristic of individually wrapped snacks.
