Over 23% Said This Was Popular Cereal Was Their Absolute Favorite

Breakfast cereals are known for sometimes being on the unhealthy side, due to the sheer amount of sugar they pack per serving. But everyone still has a go-to they can't resist a bowl of. That's why Mashed polled 603 people across the U.S. to find out just which popular cereal is the favorite among most people. The options included Reese's Puffs, Lucky Charms, Frosted Flakes, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Foot Loops, Fruity Pebbles and Apple Jacks.

Those cereals that didn't quite make the top cut included some of the most sugary. Apple Jacks came in last place with only 8.62% of the vote. Froot Loops was the next least favorite coming in at 9.12%. Ironically, both of these are the most sugary of the options packing 12 grams of sugar per serving each (via Spoon University). Moving toward the middle-ranking cereals, Lucky Charms — with 11 grams of sugar per serving — garnered 10.45%.

These were the favorite cereals

The top four favorite kinds of cereal within the Mashed poll were also those that packed less sugar among the group. These breakfast meals had between 9 and 10 grams of sugar per serving. In fourth place was Fruity Pebbles with the least amount of sugar, which came in at 11.11% (via The Street). Rounding out the top spot was Reese's Puffs, which received 12.44% of the poll votes.

Coming in at second place was a childhood classic that people can't seem to get enough of — Frosted Flakes with 23.55%. But the ultimate favorite among our cereal lovers was Cinnamon Toast Crunch, which nearly a quarter of people selected from the options. It gained 24.71% of the vote from 149 people making it the most popular type of cereal. Not to mention, both of these cereals have 10 grams of sugar per serving placing them on the lower end of the range (via Spoon University).
