Nearly 22% Said This Is The Best Non-Chocolate Candy To Give Out On Halloween

Halloween is just around the corner, and chances are you're already thinking about what kind of candy you should stock up on for this year's festivities — that is, if you haven't already bought a few bags. While you obviously want to have your own favorites on hand to nibble on, chances are you might also want to have a couple of different types of candy for kids with allergies or simply those who don't love chocolate. Besides, you know most trick-or-treat bags are most likely already filled with chocolate before the night is even halfway over. That's why Mashed took a poll to find out just which non-chocolate candy is the favorite to receive.

A total of 618 people across the United States responded to our Halloween poll which included seven options: Skittles, Nerds, Starburst, Haribo gummies, Twizzlers, Sour Patch Kids and Laffy Taffy. Of all the options, the votes broke the results down into four clear tiers of non-chocolate candy that people would actually want to receive.

The first and lowest tier included Nerds and Laffy Taffy. Only 5.66% of people wanted Nerds, while Laffy Taffy received just nine additional votes for 7.12% of the vote from 44 people.

These were the top three candies

The third tier was made up of Twizzlers and Haribo gummies with a near tie. Only 0.16% separated the two. Twizzlers received 13.43% of the vote from 83 people while 84 people voted for Haribo gummies giving them 13.59% of the vote. Haribo has a dedicated Halloween candy lineup that sweets lovers will want to check out regardless of their preferences.

The second and third favorite non-chocolate candies of all the options that made up the second-tier options were Starburst and Sour Patch Kids. Starburst received 18.77% of the vote from 116 people. Sour Patch Kids just edged out Starburst with 122 votes from 19.74% of the vote.

That leaves Skittles as the top non-chocolate Halloween candy that people really want to find in their bag at the end of the night. Some 21.68% of people voted for the colorful candies meaning 134 people chose it over the other options. So, if you're still considering what to hand out this year, you might want to get a bag of Skittles too. Of course, chocolates aren't all created equal, either. There's definitely a worst chocolate candy to watch out for, as well.
