Are Hershey's Kisses And Chocolate Bars Made With The Same Ingredients?

As a massive chocolate brand, Hershey's is much-loved for its selection of decadent treats. According to Mental Floss, there was a time when Hershey's Chocolate Kisses were painstakingly wrapped by employees who used foil to pack the chocolates. It took 14 years for machines to take over and make the task a lot easier. Also, the company stepped up and helped out U.S. troops by supplying chocolate bars in the 1940s in the midst of World War II.

Hershey's is still a prominent name in the business and has now established a global presence. It is proud of its legacy. The company's FAQ section states that it has set up one of the largest chocolate factories in the world in Hershey, Pennsylvania to ensure that it can manufacture all of its products at their facility. The brand adds, "Our history in the town goes back more than 100 years, and we are committed to continue making the world's best chocolate products right here in Hershey, Pennsylvania."

The brand has many popular products including (but not restricted to) Hershey's Kisses, Hershey's Milk Chocolate Bars, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and more. Interestingly, Hershey's Kisses and its classic chocolate bar aren't drastically different.

Hershey's kisses and chocolate bars do share the same ingredients

A quick look at the Hershey's website indicates that Hershey's Kisses and its Milk Chocolate Bars have the same list of ingredients. They're basically comprised of milk chocolate that features a mix of milk, sugar, cocoa butter, lecithin, cocoa butter, and natural flavor. Additionally, they are both gluten-free and kosher. Quora users discussed this topic at length in a thread. One person noted that the chocolates do have similar flavor profiles. They wrote, "I'm quite certain that they are made from the same recipe. They taste the [same], and it wouldn't make sense for Hershey's to use different chocolate recipes."

The company insists on maintaining transparency in terms of all its products to ensure that customers aren't in the dark about what they are consuming. Hershey's states, "We're committed to providing a variety of choices to meet lifestyle needs across our beloved brands and being transparent about the ingredients inside your favorite Hershey products."
