Drew Barrymore's Solid Advice For Cardi B On Going Vegan
According to The VOU, there are some 79 million vegans in the world as of January 2021. That's about 1% of the global population who refrain from consuming any animal products, including meat, dairy, eggs, and sometimes even honey. That number is on the rise, with Chef's Pencil reporting that searches for veganism hit an "all-time high" in 2020, based off Google Trends. Whether it's for health reasons, environmental concerns, or animal rights, it seems that more and more people are switching to vegan diets.
Plenty of celebrities are vegan as well, from those who have been eating plant-based for years to those who have recently adopted the lifestyle. The list includes Natalie Portman, Woody Harrelson, and Billie Eilish, to name a few (via Vegan Food and Living). And soon, that list may also include Cardi B. The rapper recently tweeted, "I want to go vegan but I love meat.. are vegan meat replacements similar to meat in taste or not really?" Among the thousands of responses she received on Twitter was a video from Hollywood's very own Drew Barrymore. Here's the actress' tip for Cardi on making the transition to veganism.
Drew Barrymore is a big fan of Quorn meatless products
Few people were as excited about Cardi B's announcement that she wants to go vegan as Drew Barrymore, who describes herself in the repsonse video she posted on Twitter as a "flexitarian" who has been searching for suitable meat substitutes her "whole life." Along with the video, Barrymore wrote in all caps: "YES @iamcardib I HAVE THE ANSWER TO YOUR MEAT FREE DREAMS. @QuornUS HAS CHANGED MY LIFE! SENDING YOU SOME IMMEDIATELY. PS I LOVE YOU." This reccomendation comes as no surprise, given that Drew holds the title of "Chief Mom Officer" at Quorn – a brand that offers a variety of meat alternatives, including meatless chicken nuggets, burgers, and meatballs (via Quorn).
Many people agreed with Drew's recommendation. "Quorn is amazing. They definitely made my transition to being a vegetarian [a lot] easier," one person tweeted, while another described the brand as "the best out there." Others shared their favorite Quorn products, with one person noting they can't even tell the difference between the brand's meatless meat and, well, actual meat.
