Once upon a time, Jamba Juice scheduled the return of the Pumpkin Smash Smoothie to coincide with the actual fall season. In fact, as recently as 2019, Jamba's Pumpkin Smash Smoothie returned to Jamba's menu on October 22 (per Guilty Eats). Fans of this warmly spiced, creamy, smooth refresher were likely grateful to see the return of this limited-edition treat — which debuted in mid-September of 2017 (via The Union) before returning for its second limited run in mid-September of 2018 (via KXXV). However, they might also have wondered why on earth Jamba scheduled the launch more than a month later than it had in the preceding two years.
While we can't speak to what Jamba's powers-that-be might have been thinking, what we can say is that the following year, the launch date was moved up to September 1 (via Brand Eating) — just under a week before Labor Day. We also know that the following year, Jamba's Pumpkin Smash Smoothie returned on August 24 – two full weeks before last year's annual three-day "say goodbye to summer while it's still summer" weekend.
Accordingly, by our not-actually-scientific-by-any-means analysis, we'd be willing to wager that the return of Jamba's Pumpkin Smash Smoothie in 2022 will arrive by August 22, which is precisely two weeks before Labor Day 2022. Are we right? Only time will tell.
