The Caffeine-Packed Bagels You Never Knew Existed

There are two types of people in America. The type that doesn't drink coffee, and the type that swears by coffee, even making it a part of their personality. Stores and websites are flooded with coffee-related merchandise, such as shirts that read "But first, coffee," and mugs and wall hangings with similar messages. According to Disturb Me Not, 64% of adults in America consume coffee every day. About 400 million cups of coffee are consumed in America daily, with 146 billion cups consumed every year.

Per Premium Waters, the number one reason coffee is so popular is, of course, its caffeine content. Caffeine is known to increase energy levels and eliminate drowsiness (though too much caffeine can be bad for you), plus boost memory and mood. Also, Medical News Today notes that coffee provides antioxidants along with vitamins B2 and B3.

Some companies have found ways to benefit from the caffeine craze, one of them being Einstein Bros. Bagels.

Boost breakfast with a caffeinated bagel

Einstein Bros. Bagels rolled out a caffeine-filled line of products called Boosted Bagels that you might not have heard about. Per Cision PR Newswire, the line was launched in 2017 and included one called Espresso Buzz Bagel. This bagel was infused with 32 milligrams of caffeine and 13 grams of protein, and also was offered as an Espresso Buzzed Bagel and Bacon Sandwich. The sandwich included brown sugar bacon, cage-free eggs, cheddar cheese, and butter.

Einstein Bros. isn't the only company that had the idea of integrating caffeine into food. Eat Your Coffee offers five snack bars with a range of caffeine content between 65 and 80 milligrams per bar. The flavors include Fudgy Mocha Latte, Salted Caramel Macchiato, Peanut Butter Mocha, Cocoa Espresso, and Mocha Mint. However, some coffee consumers would rather stick to the tried and true — a cup of coffee. If you're one of them, check out the best coffee beans of 2022 if you're planning on making coffee at home.
