Aldi's Convincing Copycat Chick-Fil-A Sandwich Will Get You Through All Sundays

As America's favorite fast food restaurant with a customer satisfaction score of 83 in 2022, it's safe to say that people love their Chick-fil-A (via The Hill). However, despite how beloved the "home of the original chicken sandwich" is by foodies across the country, none of them can say they're obsessed with the eatery enough to swing through its drive-thru every single day of the year.

Now, that's not for lack of trying. In fact, if Chick-fil-A restaurants were open for more than six consecutive days in a row, we're sure there'd be a number of fans out there who would gladly pick up an 8-count pack of nuggets on every day of the week that ends in "y." But alas, when Chick-fil-A opened in 1946, founder S. Truett Cathy decided to close up shop every Sunday "so that he and his employees could set one day aside to rest and worship if they choose" (via Chick-fil-A). Now, more than 75 years later, the practice is one that every single location– even the one Chick-fil-A inside a stadium where NFL football games are played — has continued to uphold.

That guaranteed day off is well-deserved for employees, though some patrons' tastebuds may not feel the same. Fortunately, Aisle of Shame reports that Aldi sells all the fixings for a copycat Chick-fil-A sammie that are available every day of the week and can hopefully help fans get through those dreaded 24 hours until their favorite restaurant opens again.

You can find Chick-fil-A sauce dupes at Aldi, too

Chick-fil-A's Original Chicken Sandwich is fairly simple, consisting of nothing more than a boneless, breaded chicken breast and dill pickle chips on a toasted, buttery bun (via Chick-fil-A). And yet, executing a satisfying replica can prove to be a bit more difficult than it sounds, not to mention messy if you're brining and breading the chicken patties yourself. However, according to a number of Aldi shoppers on the internet, you can find everything you need at the German grocery chain to make a convincing copycat CFA sammie that hardly requires any effort in the kitchen.

Unsurprisingly, the dupe calls for Aldi's infamous Red Bag Chicken, which Aisle of Shame insists should be air fried for best results, though using the oven will also work — making them in the microwave, however, is a major no-no. The grocer's Specially Selected Brioche Buns are another must-have and are to be lightly buttered and toasted before assembling the sandwich with your chicken patty and a few Great Gherkin Hamburger Dill Pickle Chips, though another brand can be used if this particular one isn't available.

The Aldi copycat sandwich has gotten the stamp of approval from a number of CFA aficionados, one of whom told TODAY they "taste fresher and better" than the actual thing. And if you're missing Chick-fil-A's assortment of dipping sauces when trying out this Aldi hack, don't worry. The grocer's got a few dupes for those, as well, per TODAY.
