Aldi's New Canned Cocktails Have More Alcohol Than You'd Expect

Aldi's alcohol game is surprisingly good. From delicious wines year-round to light and fruity sangrias for spring, the budget grocery chain tends to roll out exactly the boozy concoction we didn't know we needed at just the right time. Fortunately, the most recent addition to the shelves is one that packs quite a kick just as summer heats up (via PopSugar).

The new drink is actually a fizzy margarita agave wine cocktail with classic lime flavor. Interestingly, there has been a larger, bottled version that was similar to this drink, also made with agave, that was available in the past, so if you liked those, you should probably check these out.

Both the cans and the bottled cocktail were made by the same company, Rancho La Gloria, but the canned version is perfect for drinking on the go. All you have to do is pop them in the refrigerator for a while before tossing them in a cooler. So don't forget them the next time you head to the pool, out for a hike, or for a leisurely day of kayaking (via PopSugar).

What you need to know about the Aldi canned margaritas

We know you really want to find out just how boozy these new cans are, and you won't be disappointed. While many canned alcoholic beverages check in at around 4 to 6 percent alcohol by volume, these cans are right at 10 percent alcohol by volume. That means these 8.5-ounce bright green cans carry roughly twice the amount of alcohol as their less-alcoholic counterparts. So, if you're looking for a buzz, it will certainly help you get there.

Because you can pick up a pack of four of these canned margarita wine cocktails for just $7 at Aldi, they're extremely affordable too. Just like its bottled counterpart, the cans are made with real lime juice and agave. And if you prefer the mango or strawberry flavors of the bottled margarita cocktail, then let's just hope Aldi rolls those flavors out in cans later this summer.
