What Chopped Winner Maneet Chauhan Is Up To Now
What is Chopped winner Maneet Chauhan up to now? When it comes to reality shows on television, some names leave more of an impact than the others. One hot favorite, Chopped, has managed to stay relevant and popular among its loyalists over the years. According to PopSugar, the show is the result of an incredible amount of hard work. Plus, lot of thought goes into making sure that everything is up to the mark. For example, the mystery baskets that are used by the contestants on the show are carefully planned. "They plan the baskets for a whole season, so that's three baskets a day, times four ingredients, times 39 episodes; and all the baskets have a riddle inside them," Chopped host Ted Allen remarked. "It's hard work." Whew!
Additionally, Chopped serves up memorable challenges and gives viewers a chance to observe some of the most talented and promising chefs in the industry. Take Chauhan, for instance. The celebrity chef has been a judge on the show since 2010 and her story is nothing short of inspirational (via Cosmopolitan). Chauhan started cooking as a child because she was always drawn to the kitchen, and couldn't wait to experiment with all the ingredients in front of her to create wonderful dishes. She studied hotel management in India before deciding to move to the U.S. to study at the Culinary Institute of America. Somewhere, along the way, Chauhan managed to beat gender stereotypes and hold her own as a chef.
She's an inspiring woman
According to Cosmopolitan, Chauhan worked hard before she was picked to be a part of Chopped. For those not in the know, Chauhan was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef and The Next Iron Chef, opportunities that immediately got her noticed; she landed her next TV gig as a judge on Chopped. "The transition to television roles [while still cooking] was absolutely surreal because the kitchen is [one of] the most unglamorous of jobs at the best of times," Chauhan explained, adding that she really enjoys balancing both roles. Chauhan remains a permanent judge on Chopped where she offers her insights on the art of cooking.
Chauhan is also juggling several other responsibilities: she's a cookbook author and an entrepreneur. According to her website, she currently runs a hospitality group called Morph Hospitality Group and is the founder of several eateries such as Chauhan Ale & Masala House, Tansuo, The Mockingbird, and Chaatable. Whew! Chauhan also active on Instagram and keeps her fans updated about the latest developments in her life. What a chef, huh?
