Nerds' Candy Collab Will Transport Dungeons & Dragons Fans To The '80s

If you are a fan of the iconic candy Nerds and are part of the Dungeon & Dragons vortex, then you are going to love this sugary confection's latest collab with this online game. Per a press release, the neon-colored candy and fantasy game from the '80s are partnering up to launch a new limited edition Nerds Gummy Clusters and Rainbow Nerds Theater Box packaging. And D&D fans are going to lose it when they see the new D&D-inspired Nerds characters who have a starring role on the box. But this partnership gets better.

These boxes and bags of Nerds hit candy aisles on September 1 and will be available through December 2021. What makes this candy and gaming world hook-up so cool is that, if you purchase NERDS Gummy Clusters or Rainbow Nerds Theater Box D&D packaging, you can upload the receipt to nerdscandy.com/dnd to enter what is being called an "exclusive campaign" dubbed "Restoring Harmony." How does it work?

Per the announcement, simply upload your first receipt (because, who are you kidding, you are going to purchase this candy repeatedly while it's available) and you will be granted "access to a single PDF adventure and character sheet that can be run in under an hour" by a DM, which incidentally does not mean direct message, but rather Dungeon Master, along with one player who takes on the role of a Nerds character, commencing at level one.

D&D fans will enjoy these 7 adventures

The release goes on to share that the "Restoring Harmony" campaign showcases six different Nerds characters, each with a different personality that includes: Curiosity, Creativity, Spontaneity, Deep Thinking, Logic, and Humor. The more receipts you upload, the more character sheets and adventures you will be able to unlock.

After you've played all six, there is an opportunity to upload a seventh receipt for a bonus and final adventure that will allow you to reach the third level. This level is pretty sweet because it will allow all of the Nerds to "join forces and become better together." These adventures are being touted as "family-friendly" and "easy-to-start." We don't know about you, but we're getting serious "Big Bang Theory" vibes. We wonder if Sheldon and the gang will be playing.

In addition to the fun adventures, when you upload your first receipts, the website notes that "you'll be automatically entered for a chance to play D&D virtually with Dungeons & Dragons team members, and to create your own character. You'll qualify for a chance to win a D&D Starter Set, D&D Essentials Kit, Players Handbook, Monster Manual and Dungeon Master's Guide. As an added bonus, after uploading your first receipt, you'll be emailed a code to unlock the exclusive NERDS Champion within the Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms video game."
