This Unusual M&M's Flavor Is Andrew Zimmern's Favorite
For over 100 years, M&M's have been delighting chocolate fans. In fact, the little chocolates were so popular they gained the infamous "M" stamped on every candy to distinguish the real deal from imitators (per M&M's). There is no denying that those colorful chocolates hold many accolades; they were the first candy in space, according to Smithsonian Magazine, and dubbed the "Official Snack Foods of the 1984 Olympic Games."
While many love the classic flavors like chocolate or Peanut M&M's, the popular candy company has added a myriad of flavor options over the years. From White Chocolate Pretzel Snowballs to internationally inspired flavors, the classic candy has be transformed in many ways. As Andrew Zimmern shared in a recent tweet, his favorite M&M's flavor might not be the package that most people grab (or even find) from the store shelf. Although some may agree with his astute flavor preference, others might prefer a less unusual choice.
Andrew Zimmern's favorite M&M's flavor is not the most common
In a recent tweet, television host Andrew Zimmern shared with fans that his favorite M&M's flavor is coffee nut and his second favorite flavor is pretzel. Coffee Nut was introduced in 2016 via a fan contest (per Candy Industry). The flavor defeated both Honey Nut and Chili Nut in a fan vote. Although Coffee Nut M&M's are caffeine-free, many people still appreciate the flavor combination.
As Zimmern is such a strong supporter of Coffee Nut M&M's, he might want to stock up on a few extra bags. Twitter user @jblukin, who describes themselves as a Mars employee, shared, "Chef, I don't know how to break this to you, but unfortunately Coffee Nut M&M's are being discontinued." Wide Open Eats describes the flavor as a limited time offering, but does not give a date for when fans can expect it to disappear from shelves. Still, if Zimmern's first choice is unavailable, at least pretzel M&M's seem to be sticking around.
