Mother's Day 2022: Where To Get The Best Food Freebies And Deals
Moms and motherly figures contain just as many multitudes as Walt Whitman, if not more, and therefore there's no single way to celebrate these incredible people on Mother's Day, which happens to be this Sunday, May 8. One mom might be content with a bouquet of flowers, a stack of homemade pancakes, and a day of board games, while another might want to head out on a formidable mountain hike and replenish with a bib-adorned seafood feast and a glass (or two) of wine, while yet another might want to do absolutely nothing for once.
Whatever the case may be, moms of all ilks have one thing in common — they must eat. Whatever fun you have in store for your mom this weekend, read on for a host of Mother's Day freebies and deals at national chains that'll take the guesswork out of gift-giving when mealtime, or snack time, rolls around.
Tim Hortons
Everyone knows the best part of an Edible Arrangement is the chocolate-covered bits, so the Canadian multinational cafe and bake shop chain Tim Hortons is giving the people, specifically the moms, what they want by offering a Timbit Arrangement at select U.S. retailers on May 8, reports Chew boom. For those who have yet to eat at Timmies, Timbits are the chain's take on donut holes; bite-sized spheres made from the same stuff as its original donuts.
Per Chew boom, the Mother's Day Timbit Arrangement comes complete with 20 Timbits for the price of 10, wrapped up in a snazzy red velvet box and featuring flavors like birthday cake, glazed chocolate, honey dip, and apple fritter.
If an assortment of donut holes sounds like your mom's cup of tea, you can "ask a team member for the Timbit arrangement BOGO offer" using promo code 1512. If your nearest Tim Hortons isn't slinging Mother's Day Timbit Arrangements, Chew boom adds that all locations are also offering a buy-10-get-10-free deal on the signature round treat, which uses the same promo code.
Marble Slab Creamery
For moms who are partial to double scoops of ice cream, the Georgia-based chain Marble Slab Creamery is offering a buy-one-get-one-free deal on its regular ice cream flavors for members of its Slab Happy Rewards program, valid online and at participating locations on Sunday, May 8.
The brand's website claims that its ice cream is "homemade in small batches daily using the freshest ingredients," and the creamery has an exhaustive list of flavors to boot. From amaretto to lemon custard to cereal milk to chocolate marshmallow, moms will have plenty of options when selecting their scoops. If you're not a rewards member but the deal sounds like something your mom would enjoy, know that newcomers receive a $5 reward upon their first purchase.
Round Table Pizza
Round Table Pizza, a franchise headquartered in Georgia with locations across the Western United States, is joining the likes of California Pizza Kitchen by celebrating moms with heart-shaped pizza. The festive shape can be applied to any type of pie, from its King Arthur Supreme (which comes loaded with pepperoni, Italian sausage, salami, linguiça sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, and black olives on its signature "zesty red sauce") to its Guinevere's Garden Delight (a veggie-filled pie topped with tomatoes, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, and black olives).
The chain, which touts its "commitment to gold standard ingredients and hand-crafted pizza," is also offering 15% off online and in-app orders from May 6-8 at participating locations with the code 15OFF.
Auntie Anne's
Are you a Pretzel Perks member at the pretzel franchise Auntie Anne's? Did you inherit your love of pretzels from your mom? If so then we have good news for you. From May 6-8, the chain is offering a buy-one-get-one-free deal on all pretzel products (including classic soft pretzels, pretzel nuggets, and pretzel dogs) at all locations. Obviously, moms will be the beneficiaries of the "free" side.
However, this Mother's Day deal is valid for Pretzel Perks members only but there's more good news if you sign on as a new Pretzel Perks member. You'll get an even sweeter deal and receive an additional "pretzel reward" after making a purchase of $1 or more, per the brand's website.
Jamba
The smoothie purveyor Jamba, formerly known as Jamba Juice, is offering a free breakfast item for "brunch-loving moms" who spend $15 or more on May 7 or May 8. The deal applies exclusively to members of the Jamba Rewards family, and newcomers will receive 50% off their first smoothie.
Jamba is known for its health-conscious drinks, but their breakfast menu features sausage and Impossible "Handwiches" (a portmanteau of "hand-held" and "sandwich," natch) that are "designed to pack flavor and crave into a small, neat package that fits in one hand and stays together for eating on-the-go," per the brand's website. The breakfast menu also features a quiche-like "Egg Bake" (which the brand says is "a good source of protein and calcium to power you through your day") and an array of bakery items, including a Belgian waffle and a turkey sausage wrap.
Marco's Pizza
Marco's Pizza, which is owned by a native of Sulmona, Italy, might be the dark horse of the pizzeria world. For moms who prefer authentic Italian pies over the kind served at American-influenced chains like Domino's and Pizza Hut, the brand is offering its Pepperoni Magnifico pizza for a cool $9.99, which can be claimed with the code PEPMAG on the brand's website and app. The pie is made with Marco's signature "Old World Pepperoni," romesan seasoning, its original sauce, and three cheeses, according to its website.
If pepperoni's not the move for your mom, the brand is also offering unlimited large two-topping pizzas for $8.99 with code HOT2GO.
PDQ
PDQ (short for People Dedicated to Quality), the underdog of the fast food chicken sandwich wars, is offering $1 off each boxed lunch, which can be composed of a three-piece tender, eight-piece nugget, or any sandwich or salad, for those who purchase 10 or more. This deal is valid through May 15 at all locations in-store and online.
While moms can certainly take advantage of this deal, the chicken joint is also offering a free meal to moms who purchase any additional meal (including kid's meals) on Sunday, May 8 only. Recipients can claim the deal online or in-store using the code MOM, which should be easy to remember.
Pieology
Pizza strikes again with a Mother's Day perk from Pieology, the chain that some people refer to as "The Chipotle of Pizza." They're offering a buy-one-get-one-free BOGO deal for anyone who dines at a participating location with their mom on Mother's Day only. If you find yourself at a Pieology location that isn't participating in the deal, you might as well treat your mom to a pizza night anyway.
Schlotzsky's
The pizza- and sandwich-focused restaurant chain Schlotzsky's has something sweet in store for Rewards Member moms from May 6 through 8 — a free Cinnabon with any entrée purchase. Rewards customers can download the Schlotzsky's app to claim to deal, which will be automatically applied at checkout.
The brand serves its sandwiches on toasted buns that are baked fresh each morning, per its website, and while they offer a veggie option with cucumber, lettuce, onion, olives, and tomato, their sky-high meaty options appear to reign supreme — something to keep mind for carnivorous moms.
