Every Chick-Fil-A Milkshake Flavor Ranked Worst To Best

There are many fast food joints where you can order a delicious chicken sandwich or a box of hot chicken nuggets. McDonald'chicken nuggets are a delicious treat, and it's  hard to beat a crispy box of chicken from KFC. Chick-fil-A is another restaurant chain that heavily features chicken on its menu. Chick-fil-A is the largest fast food chain in the country and it is also home to many delicious chicken-themed meals (via Chick-fil-A).

When you step inside a Chick-fil-A establishment, you'll likely find walls covered in cows asking you to "Eat mor chikn," or something along those lines, highlighting just how important chicken is to Chick-fil-A. However, chicken isn't the only item that Chick-fil-A sells. Once you've finished scarfing down chicken sandwiches and waffle fries, you might be in the mood for one of the several milkshakes and ice cream drinks that Chick-fil-A features on its menu.

Some of these drinks are seasonal and are sold for a limited time, while others are year-round treats that you can pair with your Chick-fil-A order. If you're looking to indulge in one of these dessert offerings, it's best to know which flavor you'd most enjoy.

14. Strawberry

This flavor might not be as much of a fan favorite as chocolate and vanilla but it's still a fun and colorful fruit flavor that doesn't disappoint: Strawberry is a milkshake flavor that you can find year-round in the "treats" section of the menu. This drink is a pretty pink delight that stands out among all the other staple milkshake flavors.

On the brand's website, the shake is shown as having little bits of real strawberries though your Chick-fil-A order may or may not contain these tiny strawberry particles. The flavor of this drink does swing more towards the artificial strawberry candy flavor, but you can still pick up the barest hint of something that tastes like the refreshing flavor of real strawberries, though it's quite mild.

This shake is sweet and lightly fruity, and it's definitely not the worst milkshake to drink when the warmer season hits. Though this is an enjoyable drink, it probably will leave you craving the real taste of strawberry, because it does lean towards being overly sweet. If you have a strong sweet tooth though, and you really like strawberry ice cream, then you'll likely enjoy this milkshake. If you're not a fan of sweet drinks, however, then you should probably steer clear of this shake.

13. Autumn Spice

The Autumn Spice milkshake is a Chick-fil-A limited-time flavor that is served to celebrate the return of the autumn season (via Chick-fil-A). Just as Starbucks features its massively popular pumpkin spice drinks for the Fall season, similarly, Chick-fil-A offers an Autumn Spice Milkshake.

This cold treat is made out of Chick-fil-A's Icedream that is blended with flavors of cinnamon, orange, cardamom spice, and crumbled bits of Speculoos cookies, which are cinnamon spice flavored Belgian cookies. This flavored milkshake was released in participating locations in Salt Lake City from late September to late October 30 last year.

The people who did taste this shake experienced a super cinnamony, cookie-filled shake. It was probably similar to a more cinnamony version of a cookies and cream milkshake. However, since this milkshake was only offered in Utah and it wasn't readily available across to consumers in other states, it's hard to pass judgment on a shake that was only available for a limited time at a few specific locations. If Chick-fil-A does reintroduce this flavor, hopefully, it'll be available across all locations so that fans can try out this shake by the time the fall season and pumpkin spice-themed offerings roll around.

12. Holiday Cookie

The Holiday Cookie Milkshake is made from Chick-fil-A's Icedream, which is the fast food chain's take on soft-serve ice cream. This milkshake is made by mixing together ice cream with bits of sugar, snickerdoodle, and shortbread cookies before being served with Chick-fil-A's signature whipped cream topping, festively colored sprinkles, and a cherry on top.

When a milkshake has "cookie" in its name, that's generally a sign of a yummy treat, which stands true for this flavor as well. The Holiday cookie milkshake is similar to Chick-fil-A's cookies and cream milkshake though it has less chocolate and more of a snickerdoodle, sugar cookie flavor. This cookie flavor is pretty much unbeatable during the holidays, particularly as it tends to remind people of cookies associated with Saint Nicholas or the holiday season.

This shake hasn't been back offered at Chick-fil-A restaurants for a while now and the restaurant chain has opted for a different holiday flavor in the winter. This shake was only available in certain Utah locations from October 23 through November 18 in 2017 (via Chick-fil-A). Hopefully, this flavor will make a comeback and will be available at all locations for us to enjoy with other holiday-flavored desserts.

11. Frosted Key Lime

Chick-fil-A's Frosted Key Lime drink is made by mixing together lemonade and Icedream and then adding some Key Lime flavoring into the mix (via Chick-fil-A). The drink had a soft green color, almost like a lime, and it was released for a limited time in the spring of 2019. This drink was branded as a frosted lemonade as it is made with a lemony beverage, but since it is an ice cream drink as well, it's fitting to classify this drink as a lemonade and as a dessert drink.

The Frosted Key Lime milkshake was first introduced at Chick-fil-A locations in Texas before it was released across the country and thirsty patrons of the chicken chain could experience the tangy, sweet, and creamy taste of this frozen beverage (as per Chick-fil-A).

The drink isn't bad, however, most Chick-fil-A fans seem to prefer other ice cream treats over the Frosted Key Lime, as evidenced by the brand's Facebook page, which has several comments about the other flavors and only a few about the Key Lime flavor. Overall, this drink was pretty forgettable, although some fans probably do want it back on the menu.

10. Banana Pudding

There's nothing like a delicious serving of banana pudding. Banana pudding is a sweet and creamy dessert that is a perfect dessert and flavor to turn into a milkshake, and for a time, Chick-fil-A did just that. In 2011, the chain released a Banana Pudding Milkshake, which was made out of real bananas, Nilla wafer cookies, and Chick-fil-A's ice cream (via PR Newswire). The milkshake was topped with the brand's sweet whipped cream and its classic maraschino cherry. Customers could order this drink between the end of February and the beginning of June.

When Chick-fil-A offered this milkshake, it was quite the hit, as evident by the sheer number of comments on Facebook that sing adoring praises of this drink. The use of Nilla wafers with real bananas really brought out the banana pudding flavor in this milkshake. However, it has been a long time since Chick-fil-A introduced this milkshake, and it's hard to say whether it will ever return. If it ever does, though, it's certain to have a delicious impact on the Chick-fil-A milkshake menu and it's likely to be ordered and enjoyed by several customers.

9. Butterscotch Crumble

Chick-fil-A's Butterscotch Crumble Milkshake is any butterscotch lover's dream. This milkshake was released for a limited time in Salt Lake City, because according to Chick-fil-A: "SLC customers drank more than 1.5 million Chick-fil-A Milkshakes in 2020 and on average, they drink more milkshakes than customers nationwide," which is why Salt Lake City is typically the lucky location that is often chosen to test out Chick-fil-A's milkshakes.

So, when the butterscotch milkshake was released, Salt Lake City citizens were given the chance to try out the sweet, creamy shake, and overall, it seems like it was a big success. Chick-fil-A customers in Salt Lake City were all huge fans of the Butterscotch Crumble and several of them headed to social media to gush about the deliciousness of the dessert drink (via Twitter). This butterscotch milkshake is made with Icedream and garnished with blondie cumbles and whipped cream.

Even if you didn't have a chance to try one of these shakes, considering the sheer amount of fanfare surrounding these shakes, you can be sure that this drink was a wonderful choice. It's hard not to get excited about the possibility of this flavor being offered at stores across the country; however, since it's only a possibility, for now, Chick-fil-A fans will simply live in the hope that this incredible milkshake returns.

8. Frosted Lemonade

There's nothing like an ice-cold glass of lemonade during the summertime. For many of us, lemonade is inherently linked to a type of nostalgia associated with childhood and lemonade stands. It's sweet and tart, and it's the perfectly balanced beverage to quench your thirst. Throwing ice cream into the mix will turn lemonade into a sweet and creamy dessert that can be enjoyed year-round.

Chick-fil-A's Frosted Lemonade is made with Chick-fil-A's lemonade and Icedream dessert. It's a fresh, vanilla and lemon-flavored delight, with a sweet, slightly tart flavor. It's less rich than a classic strawberry or chocolate milkshake, but it has a nice tang to it that regular milkshakes don't, and it's a great drink to enjoy when you're in the mood for a sweet flavor with a slight hint of sourness.

It's much sweeter than an actual lemonade, as the citrusy flavor is buried underneath the vanilla ice cream, but that's to be expected from many fast food chain lemonade-based drinks. If you like lemon flavored drinks, you'll enjoy this shake-like delight, though it doesn't really taste like an actual lemonade.

7. Peppermint Chip

When the holiday season rolls around in the winter, festive and jolly feelings are in the air, along with candy canes and peppermint-themed drinks! From the peppermint mocha at Starbucks to the numerous holiday specials around restaurants, there's extra joy everywhere during the holiday season, and that includes Chick-fil-A.

The chain celebrates the return of the Christmas season with its Peppermint Chip Milkshake, which is handspun with Chick-fil-A's Icedream along with cool chips of peppermint bark and whipped cream garnished with a cherry on top. This drink is only around for a short period of time during the winter months, but when it returns, you know that you're in for a special treat. The Peppermint Chip Milkshake is a cool drink that has a bright pink color, much like a candy cane. The milkshake has little chips of chocolate peppermint bark that lead to a rich chocolatey taste.

The sweet, refreshing peppermint flavor of this drink makes it a solid limited edition milkshake as well as a great addition to the fast food chain's milkshake menu. The shake would benefit from an added dose of chocolatey flavor to balance out the cool, minty peppermint; however, that said, this ice cream beverage is the perfect way to celebrate the winter season.

6. Frosted Coffee

There's nothing like a wonderfully caffeinated cup of coffee to start the morning out on the right foot. Whether you like it iced or hot, with cream or without, it's undeniable that coffee is a staple among many American diets. For many people, a nice iced latte or a hot americano give them the boost that they need and make their day so much better.

Coffee also pairs wonderfully well with desserts. It can supply a rich, bold flavor to whichever dessert it is added to, whether it's sweet ice cream or freshly made milkshakes. Chick-fil-A capitalizes on the popularity of coffee with its Frosted Coffee. This frosted beverage takes Icedream and blends it with some cold-brewed coffee. It's a sweet treat is perfect for those who like the taste of a black coffee, and especially anyone who favors a scoop of espresso ice cream or tiramisu.

The sweetness of the vanilla ice cream goes wonderfully with the richer, somewhat bitter flavor of the original espresso drink. Ice cream infused with coffee isn't everyone's cup of joe, but those who do enjoy the flavor will certainly enjoy Chick-fil-A's creamy, sweet, and rich frosted ice cream coffee drink.

5. Vanilla

Chick-fil-A's Vanilla Milkshake is a  delicious treat filled with the sweet, wonderful flavor of vanilla and topped off with whipped cream and a bright red cherry on top. This milkshake, like many vanilla milkshakes, is often underappreciated, even though it is a truly delicious drink. This shake is always on Chick-fil-A's menus, so you don't have to worry about its limited availability, like some of the special edition Chick-fil-A drink offerings. It's sweet, simple, and delicious: It'ss just about everything you could ask for in a basic vanilla shake.

This Chick-fil-A milkshake is handspun, which makes it a lot creamier and a lot denser than other fast food milkshakes that you might encounter. This drink is expensive for a vanilla milkshake, but the quality of this drink serves as a baseline for a good milkshake at Chick-fil-A and beyond. While it's an incredible choice, the vanilla flavor does seem a little basic although it's still a delicious drink that you will definitely adore if you enjoy all forms of vanilla ice cream.

4. Chocolate

If you're a fan of the classic milkshake flavors then there are two flavors that are must-haves for every fast food menu: Vanilla, and of course, chocolate. Chick-fil-A's  Chocolate Milkshake is exactly like its vanilla ice cream drink, except in terms of the chocolate flavor. The chocolate milkshake is handspun and it is topped with whipped cream and a cherry. Chick-fil-A's vanilla and chocolate shakes provide sweet and cool flavors that exceed expectations with their creamy, hand-spun method of preparation.

The chocolate shake, due to the natural qualities of the flavor, is a lot richer than the vanilla milkshake, which is enough to satisfy the taste buds of any chocolate lover. It isn't as chocolatey as a true chocolate lover would have liked. This drink could have benefited from a bit of chocolate syrup, but even without it, this flavor is a wonderful drink. It's perfect for any occasion that calls for a chocolate shake. You really can't go wrong with chocolate desserts, and Chick-fil-A's milkshake helps prove this point. This Chick-fil-A milkshake will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth.

3. Frosted Cloudberry Lemonade

The Frosted Cloudberry Lemonade is another limited-time Chick-fil-A offering. This delicious treat is similar to the regular frozen lemonade, though it has a little extra flair. It is made by combining frosted lemonade with added flavorings of cherry blossoms and cloudberry, which is a fruit that is similar to raspberry. Customers can also opt for diet lemonade or unsweetened iced tea

This is a seasonal beverage that the brand recently released in May of 2022 (via Southern Living). It provided Chick-fil-A patrons with another cool and refreshing ice cream and lemonade-infused treat to sip on for the summer season. The tangy flavor of this lemonade makes for a tart treat. This lemonade flavor, when paired with the iced tea, is sweet and lemony, but still just as delicious.

The cloudberry and cherry flavors give this drink a rich, and fruit-filled flavor. This ice cream beverage has garnered quite a fans: Some customers have posted on Twitter and have labeled this drink as their favorite. This fruity beverage is highly delicious and enjoyable. Since it's only available for a limited time, it's difficult to say when it will return.

2. Peach

Chick-fil-A's Peach Milkshake flavor is so good that the chain has an entire page on its website dedicated to informing patrons when this flavor will return. The page was launched in response to customer demand asking when this flavor would be available at restaurants once again (via Twitter). This shake is made with Icedream and peaches, and it's served with whipped cream, and the classic cherry on top (via Chick-fil-A).

There's a reason why so many Chick-fil-A fans anxiously await the return of this flavor. Unlike the underwhelming strawberry-flavored milkshake, the peach-flavored milkshake at this fast food chain actually tastes like the fruit that it is based on. It's fresh, fruity, and sweet: It's everything you could ask for in this kind of milkshake flavor. If you've never tried the Peach Milkshake at Chick-fil-A before, it's worth keeping an eye out for its possible return. If it does return, you should definitely give this delicious milkshake a taste.

1. Cookies and Cream

Frozen desserts and sweet treats are available in a variety of flavors, which allows everyone to try out unique and delicious desserts. However, few flavors can compare to the classic cookies and cream ice cream. It's the addition of cookies that really makes this flavor so very special. There are various different versions of this flavor, from ice creams available in grocery stores to just about any ice cream shop that you enter, as well as Chick-fil-A.

The fast food chain's Cookies & Cream Milkshake is made with Icedream as well as small bits of cream-filled cookies throughout the drink. It's served with loads of whipped cream and a cherry on top, this shake is the Chick-fil-A treat that gets pretty close to pure perfection. This milkshake is thick, creamy, and loaded with the delicious flavor of cookies that taste a whole lot like Oreos

It contains vanilla, along with the cream-filled taste of chocolate cookies. In a way, this flavor builds upon the chain's vanilla milkshake and takes it to the absolute next level. If you love cookies in cream, and you're a frequent patron of Chick-fil-A, then there is nothing stopping you from ordering this incredible flavor. This milkshake is one that you definitely need to try.
