In-N-Out's 'Then And Now' Post Is Capturing Instagram's Heart
In-N-Out is one of the most popular burger chains in the United States, and it's no wonder that one of its Instagram post is capturing the hearts of foodies and burger lovers everywhere — not to mention its already steadfast fanbase.
The fast food chain has a great sense of community. It's well known for supporting local charities and schools and has an upcoming Rock 2 Freedom benefit concert at the House of Blues Anaheim. The concert will take place on October 15th and will feature a performance by the In-N-Out Burger family members' band, .48 Special — which includes In-N-Out's very own President and Owner Lynsi Snyder — along with special celebrity guests. The concert will benefit the Slave 2 Nothing Foundation, which is a cause dedicated to supporting people affected by human trafficking or substance abuse.
The chain has built up a loyal following thanks to its delicious food and commitment to quality. As one commenter said on another Instagram post celebrating the life of In-N-Out's founder, Harry Snyder, and his wife, Esther: "Not only the King & Queen of my absolute favorite burger, their legacy represents the highest standards of customer service, consistency, and respect within the workplace. Their 'fast-food' restaurants are an experience. Far from just a place eat." And, based on the reaction to this "then and now" post, it sounds like other fans feel the same way.
A commitment to quality
The Instagram post features a side-by-side comparison of an old photo of an In-N-Out employee hand peeling potatoes, next to a photo of a current-day employee manually pressing peeled potatoes through the burger chain's easily recognizable fry cutter that's adorned in the kitchen of every restaurant. The caption reads, "Providing only the freshest, highest quality ingredients has always been our motto. From the start, we've prepared our fries from fresh, real potatoes and cook them to golden perfection one order at a time #innout #fries."
Since being posted on September 1st, the photo has received over 6,000 likes and hundreds of comments from Instagram users who are loving the throwback vibes. "Love you since my high school years in Upland, 1975," wrote one user. "And that's why In-N-Out is like no other! I'm east coast now, and I sooo miss it," gushed another. "Watching the potatoes cutter at In-N-Out is pretty cool!! Crazy how fast it cuts potatoes into delicious fries!!" said a third, accompanied by the "delicious" and "fries" emojis.
While the photos may show off the technology of the times — hand-cutting vs. the industrial fry cutter — it's the commitment to quality and heart and soul of the In-N-Out employees that haven't changed one bit, and that's something we can all get behind.
