Amaury Guichon's Elegant Wedding Cake Made TikTok's Jaw Drop

Some of the best and most meaningful events in life warrant cake. Birthdays, baby showers, and weddings are some of the standout events where we get the opportunity to celebrate with cake. Wedding cake, in particular, can hold a lot of significance to couples. Some couples hold their wedding cake very dear to them and, according to The New York Times, practice the tradition of preserving the top of the cake to eat it on their one-year anniversary. Naturally, because of this, pastry chefs who craft wedding cakes must pay expert-level attention to detail to make the cake as memorable as possible. One pastry chef whose desserts are taking the internet by storm is Amaury Guichon.

Amaury Guichon is a French pastry chef and star of Netflix's "School of Chocolate" who makes chocolate masterpieces and mind-boggling desserts that he showcases across social media. The pastry chef has amassed a huge following on TikTok where he currently has 19.9 million followers. Including a functional chocolate foosball table and an unbelievably intricate chocolate piñata, Guichon has had many of his treats go viral on the platform. One of his recent creations has netizens in quite the frenzy.

Amaury Guichon makes wedding cake of TikTok's dreams

Amaury Guichon recently posted videos to TikTok and YouTube of him making a wedding cake and it's more beautiful than we could have imagined. The video begins with Guichon leveling and soaking a small unfrosted cake that begins about the size of a Costco muffin. He then adds a bit of frosting to contain a chilled fruity filling and stacks the cake up tall, repeating his cake-then-fruity filling pattern. Guichon then covers the cake with fondant that he decorates to look like rich white-colored upholstery. After making a total of three tiers for the cake and decorating it with more fondant and edible pearls, Guichon crafts extravagant white roses, a substantial sugar-syrup butterfly, and other iridescent accents and ribbons that he adds to the very top of the cake. It's a fairytale-worthy cake that anyone would be head over heels to call their own.

Many viewers are in awe of Guichon's cake with one TikTok commenter writing, "That belongs in a museum." While many people are familiar with Guichon's chocolate work, his chocolateless desserts are just as breathtaking. One user on YouTube commented, "I thought this would be a wedding cake made of chocolate, but this is even better."

Guichon now shares his talents as an instructor at Pastry Academy which he co-founded.
