Why Everyone's Talking About Cracker Barrel's New Menu

Some days you just need a helping of some homestyle comfort food like mac and cheese or country fried chicken, and few restaurants offer as many options of southern staples as Cracker Barrel does. Fortunately, there is a new dinner menu debuting at the chain, which means even more options to choose from, and fans are excited (via Delish).

The restaurant chain's reason for switching up the menu was by and large to simplify the ordering process for customers. That is why the new dinner menu will also include some rotating dishes. Essentially, select dishes will only be available on certain days of the week. The new Down Home Daily Dinner menu will highlight certain dishes on those days, such as the new pot roast supper on Sundays.

"These new dinner features were designed to celebrate the craveable, homestyle food our guests love, while delivering on our promise to provide country cooking at a fair price," Cracker Barrel Vice President of Culinary Cammie Spillyards-Schaefer said in a statement.

The featured meals and dishes include a few new items across three menu categories. The first is Home Cooked Classics, which are priced at $7.99. This menu category introduces new maple bacon grilled chicken, which is two grilled chicken breasts with a smoky-sweet maple glaze. The chicken is then topped with bacon, melted cheese, and comes with two country sides, and, of course, buttermilk biscuits or corn muffins.

Next is the Down Home Daily Dinners menu category, which is priced under $10. This is the rotating menu that includes features like country-fried pork chops on Saturdays and the pot roast supper on Sundays. The pork chop dinner comes with two crispy fried pork chops in pan gravy along with two sides and your choice of biscuits or corn muffins. Another daily dinner includes an oven-braised beef roast with red potatoes, carrots, onions, celery, and tomatoes in beef broth in addition to the sides.

Finally, the new Cracker Barrel Favorites category includes the new barrel-cut sugar ham. This new menu item added to the final category includes the restaurant's extra thick-sliced bone-in sugar ham steak along with three sides and biscuits or corn muffins.

There's clearly a lot to try with this new dinner menu, so make sure to visit your local Cracker Barrel to order them all.
