Why The Internet Is Buzzing About What's Inside Selena Gomez's Fridge

Pop superstar and actress Selena Gomez recently gave fans a mini-tour of the inside of her refrigerator and the internet is in love. In the short video, which Gomez posted to her Instagram Reels captioned "Fridge & Freezer Tour," the star can be seen opening her fridge and freezer to give followers a peek into her quarantine lifestyle. She begins the video stating "This is my refrigerator freezer situation..." and opens them up to reveal two very different pictures.

On her fridge side, viewers can see mostly healthy foods like pre-cut vegetables, fresh fruit, and some drinks. On her freezer side, however, Gomez has an entire shelf devoted to at least 12 different pints of ice cream. Gesturing to the treat-laden shelf, the singer states, "This might be where I'm at most the time," before giving a double thumbs up. In just one day the clip has already received over 6 million likes, with fans commenting on how they totally relate to her summer isolation diet and thanking her for the "early access."

Other outlets focused on some of the more distinct items in Gomez's fridge, with Delish scouring the internet to try to find a bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch as large at the one in Gomez's video, and PopSugar praising her extremely tidy and organized shelves and making some recipe suggestions based on the contents within.

Selena Gomez also announced an upcoming cooking show with HBO Max

According to PopSugar, the hilariously relatable Instagram video was released just hours before Selena Gomez announced her upcoming television show, Selena + Chef, which will appear on the HBO Max streaming service. According to People, the show will premiere on Thursday, August 13th, 2020, and is being described as a quarantine-inspired cooking show.

In each of the 10 episodes, Gomez will be joined remotely by a different chef who will attempt to teach her how to cook a recipe. In a statement, HBO Max said, "Since social distancing at home, Selena has been spending more time in the kitchen than she ever imagined. But despite her many talents, it remains to be seen if cooking is one of them. This casual, funny, and informative series will embrace both the struggle and the joy of learning to cook — while inviting audiences to follow along at home." Each episode will also highlight one food-related charity.

Gomez has said in the past if she wasn't a pop star and actress she thought it "...would be fun to be a chef. I definitely don't have the formal training though!" and is taking the opportunity the COVID stay-at-home recommendations are providing to learn her way around the kitchen. At least if the recipes don't work out, we know she has a well-stocked fridge to fall back on. Who among us hasn't soothed the disappointment of burning dinner with a pint of ice cream?
