This Is The Most Popular Aldi Product Of 2020
Discount grocery chain Aldi is popular with its fans for its high-quality in-house items and low prices. According to a press release sent out by the company on September 15th, 2020, for the second time ever Aldi has surveyed its customers to create a list of the top 20 most beloved products. In the questionnaire, the company asked over 177,000 shoppers to vote for their favorite item, covering 20 different product categories. The number one overall Fan Favorite 2020 Aldi item, voted on by Aldi customers, is Mama Cozzi's Take & Bake Deli Pizza. This product received more than 55,000 votes and was part of the easy meal category, which it also won in 2019.
The Aldi website describes the Aldi Fan Favorite 2020 winner, the Mama Cozzi's Take & Bake Deli Pizza, as being one 16-inch pie that comes in four flavors: pepperoni, five cheese, supreme, and thin-crust mega meat. In their review on the product, The Kitchn praises the pizzas for their large size, low price point, and well distributed toppings. Unlike other frozen pizzas on the market, The Kitchn says that this Aldi product really delivers on flavor and freshness.
Aldi released a list of the other 2020 winners as well
Aldi also released the 2020 Fan Favorite winners for a variety of different categories, some of which, like the 2020 overall winner Mama Cozzi's Take & Bake Deli Pizza, were the same products that won 2019. The L'oven Fresh Hawaii Sweet Rolls won the all-new category "better than the brand" and the always-popular Specially Selected Brioche Buns were again declared the best bread or baked good. Happy Farms String Cheese again won the kids category, avocados are everyone's favorite produce item, Stonemill Everything Bagel Seasoning won the best pantry staple, and the Specially Selected 100 percent Pure Maple Syrup won breakfast. The winner of the cheese category is the Emporium Selection Crumbles, which come in feta and reduced-fat feta, as well as blue, goat, and tomato basil goat cheese varieties.
Friendly Farms Organic Unsweetened Almondmilk repeated its victory as the best dairy or dairy-free product, the best gluten-free item is the Savoritz Parmesan Crisps, and the Earth Grown Veggie Burgers kept their 2019 title as the best vegetarian or vegan product.
There were a few new categories included in the 2020 Aldi Fan Favorites
Winners for the meat and seafood categories included Fremont Fish Market Medium EZ Peel Raw Shrimp (which won the seafood category for the second year in a row) and two Appleton Farms products: the Center Cut Bacon was again voted the best deli item and the Spiral Sliced Double Glazed Brown Sugar Ham won the fresh meat category.
Clancy's Kettle Chips are the winner of the snack category, Benton's Cookies were declared to be 2020's best sweet treat or dessert, and Winking Owl Wine again won Aldi's best wine or beer. Winking Owl Wine comes in a variety of styles; including three reds plus a sangria, three whites plus a boxed blend option, and one rosé.
This year's Aldi Fan Favorite survey also included two seasonal categories: winter and fall. The best winter seasonal item is the Specially Selected Belgian Cocoa Dusted Truffles, and the Bake Shop Apple Cider Donuts won the fall seasonal category. The only non-edible winner for 2020 is the Little Journey Thick & Quilted Baby Wipes Bundle, which repeated their 2019 win in the baby or toddler category.
