The Bizarre Way McDonald's Is Celebrating The 25th Anniversary Of The McFlurry

If you grew up in the '90s, you know the feeling you got when your parents said you could get a McFlurry at McDonald's. It was pure joy and happiness. The delicious vanilla ice cream treat came swirled with your favorite candy like M&M's, Butterfinger, or Oreos. However, there have been a lot of other additional flavors over the years as reported by Delish. The outlet ranked the all-time best flavors of McFlurry and found that Reese's Peanut Butter Cup was the ultimate fan-favorite. In fact, there's even an entire Twitter account dedicated to bringing the beloved treat back. 

It's hard to believe, but this iconic treat is turning 25 this year, according to a McDonald's press release. And the fast food chain is marking this milestone in a very unusual way. The eatery is inviting fans to celebrate with them at home in some unique loungewear they are calling the "McFlurry 25th B-Day Suit."

The press release explains the outfit is "perfectly tailored for these not-so-normal times to give fans the feel-good celebration they need this year." The look is in a bold yellow color and features a playful McFlurry pattern, which includes an insulated pocket (seriously) that's ideal for a frozen treat. The unisex outfit is offered in two sizes — S/M and L/XL — and even comes with a coupon for a free McFlurry dessert.

"From video-chat birthday wishes to home-made sign car parades, we know birthdays look a little different in 2020," said Vice President of U.S. Communications at McDonald's, David Tovar. "As a go-to birthday party destination for generations, we knew we couldn't let 25 years of the McFlurry pass us by without a special celebration...2020 style. We're thrilled to give fans a new way to celebrate at-home and experience feel-good birthday moments with McDonald's by offering the one-of-a-kind McFlurry 25th B-Day Suit."
