Why Everyone Is Talking About Taylor Swift's Instagram Cookies

For the first-time-ever, Taylor Swift is making it very clear who she's voting for in the presidential election. The pop star recently posted on Instagram that she is supporting former Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Kamala Harris. Her post included an image of her on V Magazine, as well as a second photo with her holding cookies decorated with Biden's campaign logo on them.

"I will proudly vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in this year's presidential election," Swift, 30, divulged to V Magazine. "Under their leadership, I believe America has a chance to start the healing process it so desperately needs." She also said people of color deserve to feel safe, women deserve the right to choose what happens to their bodies, and the LGBTQIA+ community deserves to be included. "The only way we can begin to make things better is to choose leaders who are willing to face these issues and find ways to work through them," Swift explained.

Taylor Swift has decided to be more involved in politics

Swift is part of V Magazine's voter campaign this year. The campaign also features mega stars like Jennifer Lawrence, Mariah Carey, and Janelle Monáe, as reported by Delish. Her endorsement of Biden/Harris in the mag came out right before the 2020 vice presidential debate between Vice President Mike Pence and Sen. Harris. "So apt that it's come out on the night of the VP debate," she tweeted on Wednesday. "Gonna be watching and supporting @KamalaHarris by yelling at the tv a lot."

This isn't the first time the Grammy-award winner has voiced her political opinion. In 2018, Swift let her fans know she endorsed Tennessee's Democratic candidate for Senate, Phil Bredesen, according to USA Today. The singer also expressed her thoughts on abortion and other political matters in August of last year. "I mean, obviously, I'm pro-choice, and I just can't believe this is happening," she told The Guardian. "I can't believe we're here. It's really shocking and awful. And I just wanna do everything I can for 2020. I wanna figure out exactly how I can help, what are the most effective ways to help."
