Popular Domino's Menu Items Ranked Worst To Best

There are few foods that are as universally beloved as pizza. Pizza in all its forms — New York style, deep dish, Sicilian, etc. — is one of those foods that just about everyone likes. And while there are local spots that surely offer up some of the best pizza in your area, you can never go wrong with a casual trip to Domino's (or better yet, get Domino's to take a casual trip to you).

But just what should you order? There are so many items on the menu that it may feel intimidating at first, especially if you feel ready to break free from the classics and try something new. We decided to pick out some of the top menu items from this chain and rank them so you can make a smart decision the next time you order.

You may not agree with all our rankings, but pretty much anything you order from this menu is going to make your taste buds happy. Here are our picks.

15. Domino's Chicken Carbonara Pasta

"But it's an Italian restaurant," you say. "Why shouldn't I get pasta?" First of all, let's not insult the Italians here. Domino's might sell pizza and other dishes that you might describe as Italian, but it's definitely not a proper Italian restaurant. The pizza might be good, sure, but do you really want to wander into the foray of pasta dishes at this mega-chain?

In our opinion, you definitely don't. Let's start with the fact that Domino's says that this pasta is dressed in alfredo sauce. Wait, what? Alfredo sauce and carbonara are definitely not the same thing, and they shouldn't be confused. Carbonara is way better than alfredo, as it's filled with egg and pecorino romano, so trying to pass the two off as the same is just shameful.

Then, just ask any Italian person whether you would ever find a shred of chicken in their carbonara back home. The answer will be a resounding "nope." If you're looking for real carbonara, you will be sorely disappointed with this bowl of pasta.

14. Domino's Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich

Let's just be clear. We're not saying that Domino's should never venture outside of the world of pizza. The chain can and should try new things. But trying to make over a classic when that's just not your specialty? That's not a great idea on Domino's part. We guess that's how the Philly cheesesteak sandwich came to be.

What don't we like about it? Serious Eats describes the issue perfectly: "no cheese, no steak, lots of bread."

The amount of filling you get in this sandwich is pretty sad. While it could've been piled high with all the toppings you love, it's just a sad sandwich — not exactly what you want when you order in. But even if it had all the steak and cheese we could dream of, it still wouldn't make it much higher on the list. The meat is kind of dry, the cheese tastes cheap, and the bread? Even the quality of the bread is lower than we'd expect. You can feel free to skip out on this Philly disgrace.

13. Domino's Cheeseburger Pizza

You love pizza. You love cheeseburgers. So it just makes sense to combine the two together, right? Not so fast. While the cheeseburger pizza certainly isn't the worst item on the menu, it's probably the popular pizza we like least. One aspect of the pie we do love is the ketchup-mustard sauce. The savory flavors of the mustard combine with the sweet flavors in the ketchup, delivering a totally novel pizza sauce experience.

However, that's where the tastiness ends. We just can't get on board with the somewhat flavorless toppings on this pizza. American cheese? On a pizza? We think not. Sure, it may be blended with provolone and cheddar, but still. Don't let that plastic-y Kraft stuff defile our precious pizza.

Add to that beef, diced tomatoes, and fresh onions, and you have a subpar pizza that could've been way better with a few slight tweaks. Sure, we don't hate it. But would we suggest that you order this the next time you decide to get Domino's? Nah, not so much.

12. Domino's Boneless Chicken Wings

We know that some will disagree with us on this one, and we can't blame them. Technically, the chicken wings here are decent. They have a better flavor than you might expect when you order wings from a pizza joint, and this menu item isn't a total dud. But in reality, if you truly want a good wing, you should skip the boneless option and go for bone-in instead.

This preference isn't specific to Domino's: Bone-in wings are usually better than the boneless version. Did you know that boneless wings aren't actually true wings at all? It's true. When you're eating boneless chicken wings, you are actually just eating breast meat. If you like white meat, then go for it — you'll probably like these "wings" better than the real thing. But if you love the savory, juicy, and totally delicious appeal of Domino's bone-in wings, then the boneless version likely isn't going to cut it for you.

11. Domino's MeatZZa Pizza

Vegetarians, you'll just want to skip this one completely. This meat feast of a pizza is loaded down with meat to the point that the box actually feels heavier than it would if it were to contain a different Domino's pizza. If you love an extra-meaty meal, this may just be the choice for you. But for the rest of the world, the MeatZZa Pizza is probably not one of the best options.

In our opinion, there's simply too much meat. With pepperoni, ham, sausage, and beef all vying for attention from our taste buds, this pizza can sometimes make you feel like you're digging into a pie made of flesh. One fresh ingredient on this pizza wouldn't hurt anyone, after all.

YouTuber TheReportOfTheWeek had a different complaint. According to him, in the past, the ingredients would all be on top of the cheese. Therefore, you could see all the meat you were getting, and the various meats would get that nice browning on top. But now, it seems like they actually put some of the meat under the cheese. TheReportOfTheWeek would prefer his MeatZZa with the old preparation, and we would too.

However, we do contend that this pizza would be a slam-dunk for a recently lapsed vegan or someone just dying to eat as much protein as possible.

10. Domino's Buffalo Chicken Pizza

We expected we would either love or hate the buffalo pizza, we were surprised that it fell more in the middle of this list. If you love buffalo sauce, then the idea is certainly a solid one. But if you prefer your buffalo sauce to be spicy and super-flavorful, then you may find the sauce on this pizza to just fall flat.

Just ask one Redditor who took to the platform to express his disappointment at this pizza: "Even if I say to put extra buffalo sauce on it, it only tastes like a semi-glorified cheese pizza. I've tried this in pan (last night), hand tossed, and thin crust, and all have been the same poor quality of late. Tastes like they refuse to use hot sauce as the base."

We don't want to hate on this pizza too much, though. For one, the chicken is actually a lot more flavorful than you might expect. And the cheese plus the buffalo sauce? It's an amazing combo. If Domino's would just heat things up a bit more with the sauce on this pizza, it would probably end up much higher on this ranking.

9. Domino's Italian Sausage Marinara Pasta

We know what we said about getting pasta at Domino's when we were referring to the Chicken Carbonara Pasta, and we stand by our opinion. But when we tried the Italian Sausage Marinara Pasta, we decided that maybe not all of Domino's pasta is that bad. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean we're saying that it's good. But at the very least, you should choose this dish over most of the others in the Domino's pasta lineup.

The pasta? Not exactly what we would describe as al dente. But when you add in Domino's marinara sauce and a ton of pizza-topping sausage, it covers up the strange consistency of the pasta.

If you want to eat your Italian Sausage Marinara Pasta the right way, then you'll order it in a bread bowl. YouTuber Big J Reviews decided to review this pasta dish in a bowl, and they raved about it — especially about the cheesy bread that holds the pasta. And they also pointed out this menu item's relatively low price point when compared to other, similar products. It may not be our first choice, but we wouldn't turn it down.

8. Domino's Chicken Habanero Sandwich

Are all of your friends ordering from Domino's, but you don't want pizza? While we're not sure why you'd ever turn down a pizza, it's imaginable that this situation could come to pass. And if you'd rather grab a sandwich than a pie, then probably your best bet is the Chicken Habanero Sandwich.

We want to start off by mentioning that this isn't exactly the healthiest choice on the menu. According to Eat This, Not That!, it actually ranks as the chain's least healthy sandwich. A full sandwich would clock in at around 800 calories, which is definitely a lot considering this is only a sandwich and doesn't include a side.

That being said, this sandwich is pretty darn good. It features jalapenos, pineapple, and chicken, the respective flavors of which blend together perfectly. Add in the sweet sauce, and you've got yourself a delicious sandwich. However, you should steer clear if you don't like to mix sweet and salty.

7. Domino's Spinach and Feta Pizza

Next up on our ranking differs from the Chicken Habanero Sandwich in that it's actually relatively healthy compared to the other items on the menu. The Spinach and Feta Pizza sounds like it's the most sophisticated thing you could possibly order from a Domino's, and it just might be. Luckily, it's not that bad for you either. Eat This, Not That!, said it was the best option if you're looking for a pizza from this joint.

While a salad is a more nutritious way of getting in your greens, it doesn't hurt to eat them on top of a pizza, either. And when you consider that this is a meatless pie, it makes sense that it's not as bad for you as most pizzas are.

We love the feta cheese on this pizza, and the way it melts and mixes with the provolone makes this a solid option for every cheese-lover out there.

6. Domino's Chicken Taco Pizza

Don't remember seeing this pizza on the menu the last time you ordered from Domino's? That's because it's a brand-new offering. It just came out in August of 2020, so it's a novelty you have to try if you haven't gotten the chance to yet. And when you do, you're not likely to be disappointed.

Thrillist tried the new pizza and told us their opinion: "The first thing you'll taste when biting into a slice of Chicken Taco pizza is the taco seasoning Domino's used as a baseline flavor in place of its typical tomato pizza sauce. Without being overpowering, the seasoning instantly reminds your brain that this is no ordinary pizza and signals that you should be detecting flavors you'd associate with tacos."

Sounds delicious, right? The only thing that this pizza is missing, as Thrillist notes, is the spice. We wish Domino's would add it for us, but you can always get hot sauce on the side. Better yet ... add your own favorite grocery store hot sauce

5. Domino's Cheesy Stuffed Bread with Bacon and Jalapeno

Sometimes, a single pizza just isn't enough. You may not want to order a whole second pizza, but you still want something extra to nibble on while you enjoy your meal. That's when it's time for the Cheesy Stuffed Bread with Bacon and Jalapeno.

If you were thinking you'd get some flat piece of bread with some spicy cheese haphazardly thrown on top when you ordered this menu item, you'd be wrong. As Brand Eating points out, the bread is lovely, light, and fluffy. The reviewer also complimented the dish's bacon: "Domino's bacon is top notch among the pizza chains. It's not too crispy baked inside of the bread, but still delivers a tasty, salty, smoky flavor."

We couldn't agree more. Add that smoky flavor to the spiciness and cheesiness atop this fluffy piece of bread, and it's clear why you should give this bread a try for yourself the next time you get Domino's.

4. Domino's Garlic Parmesan Wings

While you can easily pass up the boneless wings you find at Domino's, that doesn't mean you'll want to avoid the wings altogether. In fact, there is a surprisingly large selection of wings available. Our favorite? The Garlic Parmesan Wings. This is a recent addition to the menu as well, debuting in the summer of 2020. It was part of the chain's "new and improved" sauce line, which also included hot buffalo and honey barbecue.

The ratio of garlic to parmesan in this wing sauce is absolutely perfect. It's heavy on both flavors, but in the best possible way. Probably not something you'd want to eat on a first date, but otherwise, they're our favorite wing on the menu. The chicken itself is nice and juicy and easily falls off the bone.

When you want to indulge, there's nothing like ordering a pizza and wings to your door, and if you love cheese and garlic (who doesn't?) there's no better flavor than this one.

3. Domino's Chocolate Lava Crunch Cakes

Domino's has got you covered when it comes to savory food. From pizza to sandwiches to wings to cheesy bread and everything in between, if you're looking for something salty and umami, you'll find it at this pizza chain. But when it comes to the restaurant's sweet offerings, you're left with far fewer options.

In fact, there are only three desserts on the Domino's menu. Our least favorite option is the Cinnamon Bread Twists, as they're not that flavorful. The second-best option is the Domino's Marbled Cookie Brownie, which is very tasty. But it simply can't match up to the third, and the last item on the dessert menu: the Chocolate Lava Crunch Cakes.

You eat these things warm. As you stick your utensil into the soft brown cake, you'll soon discover the molten chocolate in the middle. It's seriously out of this world. If you haven't tried this dessert yet, it's time to order some Domino's ASAP.

2. Domino's Parmesan Bread Bites

You already know we love the parmesan offerings at Domino's, as per our opinion on the Garlic Parmesan Wings. But a menu item featuring cheese we love even more? The Parmesan Bread Bites. Do you need more carbs with your pizza? Absolutely not. Will you want them once you get a glimpse of these majestic dough-balls of cheesy goodness? Of course you will.

Brand Eating described the experience of eating this snack perfectly: "These don't have the gooey-ness of mozzarella if that's what you're looking for, but they deliver Parmesan-garlic tastiness in a soft bite of bread." Believe us when we say that these Parmesan Bread Bites are better than any bread/mozzarella situation you've ever experienced.

It's definitely not a light bread, as it's very moist and dense. They're kind of heavy, but we also like that about them — you only need to eat a few to be satisfied. Plus, since they come in small, individual "bites," you can tell yourself that you're only going to eat one or two.

1. Domino's Ultimate Pepperoni Pizza

Sometimes, when you want the best of the best, you just have to stick to the classics. That's why we like to experience what Domino's does best: a pepperoni pizza. Don't go for a normal pepperoni pizza, though — order the Ultimate Pepperoni Pizza. We like this one more because the amount of pepperoni is seriously staggering. If you prefer a meatier pizza without a ton of different meats, this pizza is the right one for you.

Eat This, Not That! wouldn't necessarily approve of this ranking, but we contend that there aren't too many options at Domino's that would lend themselves to a healthy meal choice anyway. Plus, the site also points out that you'll get 12 grams of protein in a serving of this pie. And, that's something, right? Right?

The crust is nice and crispy, and so are edges of the pepperoni slices. The cheese provides the perfect foundation for all that meatiness. Sounds like the perfect pizza to us.
