The Discontinued Burger Wendy's Needs To Bring Back

Fast food chain Wendy's has been a fan favorite for years and is especially known for its varied burger options. As per Fast Food Menu Prices, some of the most popular burgers at the restaurant include the Baconator, the Junior Bacon Cheeseburger, Dave's Double, the Double Stack, and the Junior Cheeseburger Deluxe. In a Wendy's appreciation post, a Redditor once wrote, "Wendy's is godly. Their options are delicious, no matter what. Their burgers are greasy in the best way. Their chicken is seasoned to perfection. Wendy's is the superior fast food."

When it comes to cheeseburgers at Wendy's, one thing is for sure: Variety is not a problem for diners at the fast food chain. There's a plethora of options to choose from, and the brand caters to all kinds of preferences, including those who love mushrooms, bacon, cheese, and beef. But there's one item that was a hit when it was first introduced on the menu but nevertheless isn't a permanent fixture at Wendy's. Here's the lowdown.

It's the forgotten Bacon and Blue burger

If you go back to 2010, you'll remember that Wendy's introduced its fans to the rather amazing Bacon and Blue burger, which earned a lot of praise from those who feasted on it. It had wonderful ingredients such as a scrumptious beef patty, sautéed onions, steakhouse sauce, applewood-smoked bacon, and the most unconventional option of them all: Wisconsin blue cheese crumbles. "Delicious" is an understatement, is it not?

As the Huffington Post put it, this burger was a premium choice for diners and was priced at $4.99. Wendy's brought back this unique, slightly gourmet offering in 2015 and threw a brioche bun into the mix. In fact, the blue cheese idea was so successful that other brands such as Hardee's and Red Robin followed suit and offered blue cheese as a topping option in their burgers. A GrubGrade review basically called this burger exceptional in terms of quality and mentioned that it truly delivered in terms of flavor and ingredients. In fact, the burger was good enough for the reviewer to mention that they weren't too crazy about blue cheese in general, but the Bacon and Blue burger made them think differently. Impressive. Don't you reckon that now would be a great time to see this burger back on the menu?
