The Reason McDonald's Employees Never Order McNuggets

McDonald's is one beloved brand that has been ubiquitous in the fast food industry since 1954. First started by a man called Ray Kroc in California, the brand has evolved greatly over the years. According to its website, it has over 36,000 eateries in hundreds of countries. One of the star dishes at the restaurant is the McNugget. In fact, a Reddit user wrote about taking his fiancé on a date to McDonald's and buying a massive amount of McNuggets for her.

He wrote, "I took my fiancé on a nice romantic date to McDonald's today. The 10 piece McNugget was $4.50 and the 20 piece was $5.00. Needless to say, I spent $50 and bought 200 chicken nuggets." The poster added that his date loved the McNugget dinner. But when it comes to employees at McDonald's, the nuggets are one food item that they tend to avoid at all costs. Surprised? Read on for the full scoop.

The freshness of McDonald's Chicken McNuggets is questionable

As reported by Reader's Digest, these chicken nuggets aren't the healthiest option for you, but that's not necessarily why employees avoid them. Additionally, according to Eat This, Not That!, the nuggets may not even be fresh. A former employee wrote on Reddit that it's important to order them fresh otherwise you may end up with old nuggets. "If you order, especially chicken nuggets, just ask for them fresh. Otherwise, they've been just sitting in their container in the heat," they explained.

According to this ex-employee, staff members do have timers to keep track of nuggets but usually end up resetting them instead of making new ones. That doesn't sound too appetizing, does it? Maybe you're better off choosing an option like the classic Hamburger or the Artisanal Grilled Chicken Sandwich (via Taste of Home). Both are better for you and can satisfy a fast food craving rather well.
