What Great British Bake Off Winner Joanne Wheatley Is Up To Now

Great British Bake Off constestant, Joanne Wheatley, got immensely popular after winning the show's second season. According to the Gazette, the chef who was a housewife before she joined the show, managed to achieve several milestones in her career after her triumph. Wheatley has been writing books and proving her mettle as a baker in the highly competitive industry. However, she admitted that she didn't quite know that things would pan out the way they did. 

"I applied on a whim really," she told the publication. "I wasn't the most confident person and if it hadn't been for my friend pushing me I'd never have even thought about applying." Post her stint on the popular show, Wheatley has been tied up with several ambitious projects and doesn't intend to stop anytime soon. Here's what the baking star has been up to.

After winning The Great British Bake Off in 2011Wheatley worked on providing cooking classes to those who were interested in upgrading their skills in the kitchen (via Limelight Management.) She's also maintained a blog where she posts recipes regularly for her fans. Furthermore, she's written informative columns online for several platforms and has also made several television appearances. 

Wheatley is also fairly active on social media and keeps her fans updated with regular glimpses from her life that go beyond food-related updates. The baking champion is currently based in Lisbon with her family and safe to say, she's still quite hooked on her passion for cooking delicious meals and remains as enthusiastic as ever. In fact, one of her recent posts on Instagram included a scrumptious full meal with roast beef and vegetables topped with a rich gravy, followed by a sticky toffee pudding with ice-cream. Yum.
