What You Should Know About The Newest Sam's Club Credit Card
The wholesale superstore Sam's Club aims to give its customers the best deals on bulk buys, and many customers flock to the club to snag significant savings on groceries and household essentials. Sam's Club MasterCard members save even more money, thanks to their credit card cashback rewards program, and Club members who opt to upgrade to a Plus membership are now eligible to receive even more rewards, which translate to even bigger savings on purchases like groceries, gas, dining, and everything in between (via Sam's Club).
Sam's Club is now offering its Plus members enhanced rewards as part of its new credit card relaunch. According to CNBC, Plus members will now receive up to 5 percent cash back on eligible purchases they make on their card. All Sam's Club Plus members are eligible to receive 3 percent cash back on certain in-club purchases with their Sam's Club MasterCard, plus an additional 2 percent cash back bonus from their Plus membership, bringing their total rewards up to 5 percent.
This is an increase from Sam's Club's previous Plus membership rewards of only 3 percent cash back on purchases. As was the case in 2020, standard club members will still receive 1 percent cash back with their Sam's Club MasterCard. The new rewards went into effect on January 27, 2021.
Sam's Club Plus Members receive additional rewards
Club members who use the Sam's Club MasterCard will also receive significant benefits made on purchases outside the club. The credit card has a generous rewards program, offering users an additional 5 percent cash back on all gas purchases up to $6,000, 3 percent cash back on dining and takeout, and a standard 1 percent cash back reward on all eligible purchases anywhere MasterCard is accepted, per Sam's Club.
While there is no annual fee for the MasterCard, Sam's Club members must pay an annual fee of $45 per year to retain their club membership. Plus members are charged an annual membership fee of $100. Members who upgrade to the more expensive Plus membership will also receive other perks, like free shipping on all Samsclub.com orders and extended early shopping and pickup hours, as well as a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee.
New members can now receive a bonus $30 statement credit when they open their first account, if they put $30 worth of purchases on their MasterCard within the first 30 days, per Sam's Club.
