Peanut Butter Fans Need To Try Reese's New Chocolate-Free Peanut Butter Cups

Remember those times when Hershey's came out with limited-edition Peanut Butter Lovers Cups in 2019 and 2020 that had double the amount of peanut butter than usual to cater to peanut butter lovers (via Delish)? Ah, those were the days. That said, we have some good news. Reese's Peanut Butter Lovers Cups are making a comeback and Hershey's is releasing something new — and it might be even better.

Think you're a step above being a "Peanut Butter Lover"? Maybe an "Ultimate Peanut Butter Lover" feels like more of an accurate description? If that's the case, stop everything you're doing: We're here to put Hershey's new Reese's Ultimate Peanut Butter Lovers Cup on your radar, and — you guessed it — it has no chocolate, according to a Hershey's press release. None. Zilch. Just pure peanut butter. Yeah, we know. We are living in some wild times. So wild, in fact, that these are actually the first-ever Cups in Reese's 90-year history to be totally chocolate-free. Hershey's is calling them "the most extreme, peanut buttery version of [Reese's] iconic Peanut Butter Cups."

How Reese's Ultimate Peanut Butter Lover cups are different

You might be wondering what's holding all of that peanut buttery goodness in one place. We're glad you asked. In lieu of chocolate, these new Ultimate Peanut Butter Lovers Cups will be enclosed in peanut butter candy-flavored shells. Other than that, you can expect the same classic Reese's Peanut Butter Cup flavor that you know and love on the inside.

Now, onto the important part: where and when you can get your hands on some of this deliciousness. Mark your calendars for early April 2021 (yep, next month!), because that's when you can expect to start seeing these Ultimate Cups making their way onto retailers' shelves nationwide. The downside? Like their beloved peanut buttery predecessors — ahem, the Peanut Butter Lovers Cups — these will be limited-edition, too. Truly, that tidbit just gives us all the more reason to go out and buy a pack (or two, or three...) of these, like, ASAP. And by the way, that press release left us with a bit of a cliffhanger. The brand claims to have "a few more tricks up its sleeve in the upcoming weeks ... [so] be on high alert."
