How The Creators Of Laura In The Kitchen Met

If you're a fan of cooking shows, you've probably heard of Laura Vitale from the hit TV show, Laura in the Kitchen. According to the Cooking Channel, Vitale immigrated with her family to the U.S. when she was just 12 years old. She found herself being increasingly drawn to cooking, seeking advice from her grandmother. The talented cook also helped out her dad at their family-owned restaurant until 2008, before she introduced the world to Laura in the Kitchen.

The show is now believed to have millions of fans that love watching Vitale share delicious Italian and American recipes on camera, which include some incredible looking pasta dishes. The show was originally started by Laura and her husband and partner-in-crime, Joe Vitale (via Hilah Cooking). Wondering how they met and what led to the show's inception? We have all the answers. Here's everything you need to know about the show's creators. It's a really cute story.

It was an unexpected meeting

Well, Laura knew that her father had very high standards when it came to his daughter dating anybody (via Hilah Cooking). To her surprise, he immediately warmed up to her future husband, Joe. They met him while working at their family-run restaurant. Funnily enough, Joe, an engineer, lived in the same building and was a fan of the eatery. He ended up spending a lot of time with Laura's father. In fact, the latter liked Joe so much that he told Laura that she should consider being with someone like him. She wasn't too excited about the idea, at first.

However, things changed unexpectedly when Joe approached Laura himself and got to know her better. They were friends in the beginning, but Laura could not stop herself from falling for Joe. She decided to tell him how she felt by gifting him a heart-shaped pizza. Aww. Joe then proceeded to formally ask her out and the rest, as they say, is history. The two eventually tied the knot and came up with Laura in the Kitchen together.
