This Is How Much Money Anthony Bourdain Left To His Daughter

According to an article in USA Today around the time of his death, the will of the late no-holds-barred writer and celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain was released in July 2018 after a motion to file by his former wife, Ottavia Busia-Bourdain. Bourdain's assets, though far lower than some may have thought, still added up to a very hefty $1.2 million. The amount comprised savings and cash, brokerage accounts, personal property, and royalties from his years of dedicated work.

Bourdain was a man that had his hands in all sorts of projects. While some of his income came from the 2000 memoir "Kitchen Confidential" that helped to put him on the map, Bourdain was also famous for his work on various cooking and travel shows, including "No Reservations" and "Parts Unknown." Together, all of it helped him to accrue the million plus dollars he was worth by the time he passed away — and like many would assume, Bourdain left all of his fortunes to his only daughter.

Anthony Bourdain's daughter will start to receive dividends when she turns 25

As noted by The Independent, Bourdain's daughter Ariane was a mere 11-years-old at the time of her father's death in 2018, making her underage and necessitating a court-appointed guardian to oversee the trust until she is an adult. Despite having separated from Ottavia Busia-Bourdain in 2016 after nearly a decade of marriage, the couple's divorce had yet to be finalized by the time of Bourdain's death. That made her the late chef's next of kin, and ultimately Ottavia was chosen as the executor of the estate until their daughter reaches 25; Ariane will receive dividend payments over the subsequent 10 years, according to USA Today.

Despite the majority of Bourdain's fortunes going to his only daughter, The Independent also notes that there were some decisions left to his ex-wife, including determining options for his remaining clothes, cars, and personal belongings to be handled in a manner that would be in line with his wishes. The rest of his estate and future royalties, however, should promise that the young Ariane has a bright future ahead of her and a never-ending knowledge of her late father's love.
