Taco Bell Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos Supreme Recipe
Taco Bell has delivered some cheesy — in all the right ways — spins on Mexican-inspired foods over the years. One such food innovation (that became an instant favorite) is the Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos Supreme. Now, thanks to chef and recipe developer Angela Latimer of Bake it With Love, you can make a Copycat Taco Bell Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos Supreme in the comfort of your home.
In about 25 minutes (prepping and cooking time), you can have 6 Copycat Taco Bell Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos Supremes at your disposal. This is an ideal recipe if you're a Taco Bell aficionado but don't fancy cooking. As Latimer describes this recipe as "an extremely easy taco to make! Once you find the nacho tortilla shells, you're set!"
This six-taco recipe makes 3 servings (2 tacos for each serving). The recipe doesn't require a mind-numbing amount of steps, yet the end result is *chef's kiss* oh-so-sweet — and cheesy.
Gather the ingredients
First things first! You'll need to gather all the ingredients for the recipe: 1 pound of lean ground beef, 1 packet of Taco Bell seasoning (or the Mashed copycat recipe), 6 nacho taco shells, 1 cup of shredded lettuce, 1/2 cup of sour cream, 1/2 cup of grated cheddar cheese, and 1/4 cup of diced tomatoes.
You'll also need a pan for cooking the ground beef and plates for the tacos. If you purchase a whole tomato, take this time to dice 1/4 cup of tomatoes. Naturally, you'll need a cutting board and knife for this step.
Cook the ground beef
This recipe doesn't require a lot of cooking. That said, you'll cook the ground beef over medium heat until it's browned in your pan, for about 6 to 8 minutes. Once it's finished, you'll drain the grease.
Once the grease is drained, you'll add the seasoning packet and 2/3 cups of water (as directed on the packet). Then, you'll reduce the heat and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once the liquid cooks off, the taco filling is done. Remove the pan from the stove and set it aside.
Assemble the Copycat Taco Bell Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos Supreme
Now for the fun part! It's time to assemble the tacos — you're so close to diving into homemade Copycat Taco Bell Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos Supremes!
You'll need to layer the seasoned ground beef in the taco shell first. Next, add a layer of sour cream. Follow that with a layer of shredded lettuce. Finally, you'll add a layer of grated cheese and then a handful of diced tomatoes. Follow these same steps for the remaining 5 tacos. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Naturally, Latimer recommends pairing the tacos "with more nacho cheese Doritos, of course! Or enjoy some cinnamon churros with your tacos."
From our table to yours, we hope this copycat Taco Bell creation is as big for you as it is for Latimer's family: "The whole family LOVES tacos, and these were such a hit!"
