The Restaurant Nicki Minaj Was Fired From Before Fame

Who knew a rap mogul had experience in the food industry or, more specifically, the fast-food industry?! Turns out, before becoming famous, superstar Nicki Minaj had a job that many people experience in their life — waitressing. We will give you a hint as to which restaurant Minaj worked at by listing one of its popular menu items: Cheddar Bay Biscuits.

If you guessed correctly, then you know that Red Lobster is responsible for this delicious appetizer. During an appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," Minaj reveals that she worked at quite a few locations before getting fired from every single one. The rapper shared this over a meal with the late-night host at the Times Square location in New York City, which you can watch on YouTube. In the video, Minaj also dishes on tips, tricks, and what to order from the seafood chain.

Beyond Minaj reminiscing on her glory days of working as a waitress at Red Lobster, the pair also put on uniforms and served a few customers during the show's segment called "Red Lobster Redemption." But, according to MTV News, Fallon did the ultimate no-no as a server, drinking a customer's rum and coke and stealing a bite of their biscuits. Although it wasn't a fireable offense, Minaj recalled the incident that led to her being fired from the restaurant.

Customers failed to tip Minaj

We'll set the story up for you: Over cocktails, Minaj shares in the YouTube video from her guest appearance on "The Tonight Show" that customers took her pen and did not tip her. Minaj responded by walking up to the car of this woman and her boyfriend, banging on the window and shouting for them to give her pen back. At this point in the story, even Fallon doesn't think it's a big deal to get fired over a pen. But the story doesn't end there.

Minaj also reveals that she flipped the customers off with both hands, which resulted in the manager firing her immediately. Sounds like that is when Minaj's waitressing days ended and her music career began. At the end of the trip, Fallon claims redemption for Minaj by offering her the first-ever Red Lobster black card, which allows her to receive free Cheddar Bay Biscuits for life. Fallon also rewards the "Super Bass" rapper with a pen. Talk about a full-circle moment.
