These Are The Vegetables Martha Stewart Grows In Her Garden

She cooks, she bakes, she sews, she organizes — domestic goddess Martha Stewart does it all. On top of all that, Stewart also runs a media empire and even has time to garden. According to MarthaStewart.com, the personality loves to spend time in her Bedford, New York-based home that comes with plenty of room to create stunning gardens. While Stewart loves flowers, she also has an appreciation for growing her own leafy greens, fruits, and vegetables and has set aside plenty of land for this passion.

Stewart meticulously laid out her gardens to maximize both growth results and access to the garden (via Martha Stewart). The rows are separated by 12-inch pathways for easy hoeing, and they get mulched with salt hay to help deter weeds from growing. This setup has allowed Stewart to create a bountiful garden space full of edible treats that pop up between spring and deep into fall.

Stewart has a cornucopia of fresh produce

According to Stewart's website, the garden's vegetables are ready for harvest by spring, with new growth continuing through summer and fall. During spring, plants like carrots, Swiss chard, fennel, a variety of lettuce, cabbage, sugar snap peas, radishes, and more grow in the garden. Cauliflower, broccoli, turnips, beets, kohlrabi, and mache also make appearances throughout the season.

The garden's fall bounty is also no laughing matter, as the plots yield more stunning vegetables. As summer turns into fall, the garden is full of eight types of tomatoes, eggplant, artichoke, two kinds of soybeans, three types of peppers, cucumbers, parsley, basil, garlic, two kinds of potatoes, two varieties of okra, and zucchini. Basically, Stewart never even has to set foot inside a grocery store's produce section all year.

If you're thinking about creating a vegetable garden in your own space, Stewart has plenty of tips for developing, growing, and harvesting your very own crops (via Martha Stewart). Follow her lead, and one day your garden will be as bountiful as hers!
