Whether you are purchasing a snack right before you hit the movies or need a sweet treat on your way home from a long day at work, it's always the right time for a bite of gooey, chocolatey goodness. Although all bars are primarily coated in chocolate, some are dotted with salty nuts, layered with crispy wafers, or filled with gooey caramel, meaning that there's something out there for everyone and every mood — but of course we all have our favorites.
To find out which candy bar truly is the greatest of all time, Mashed surveyed 606 people across the U.S. Between the options of Butterfinger, Kit-Kat, Snickers, Twix, Milky Way, and 3 Musketeers, there was one clear winner ... but depending on your preference you may be shocked or totally on board with the response.
Snickers is the most popular candy bar in America
It turns out, the candy bar king is none other than Snickers. When Mashed surveyed 606 people on their favorite, Snickers blew all the other bars out of the water with over a quarter of respondents (25.91%, to be exact) selecting this heavenly creation as their favorite. Trailing behind Snickers as the second and third favorite are Kit-Kats and Twix with 18.65% and 12.87% of the vote, respectively.
Out of all the candy brands to grace the confectionary aisle, Snickers has been dubbed America's favorite candy bar not only by Mashed's poll, but by NBC News as well. Not only that, Snickers has also achieved the impressive feat of being named the most popular candy bar in the world by the outlet. When it comes to toppings, Snickers has it all, with a milk chocolate layer encasing caramel, peanuts, and nougat — the true candy bar trifecta, if you ask us. To meet the constant demand for Snickers, NBC notes that Mars produces 15 million Snickers every day, and sells approximately 400 million every year. If there's one thing we know for sure, Snickers truly lives up to its slogan, "Snickers Satisfies."
