Here's How Instagram Eats Aldi's Butter Croissants

Butter croissants can be the perfect snack to grab on a hectic morning with a cup of coffee. Per Smithsonian Magazine, this treat owes its beginnings to the Austrian kipfel, a food item that has a crescent shape and is filled with butter and other ingredients such as almonds and sugar. "The croissant began as the Austrian kipfel but became French the moment people began to make it with puffed pastry, which is a French innovation...it has fully taken root in its adopted land," explained Jim Chevallier, an author who has written a book on croissants.

Croissants are now a popular snack found in many parts of the world. Thankfully, it's as easy as popping into your local Aldi store to get your hands on a package of croissants. The store is currently offering the Specially Selected butter croissants to shoppers, and many enthusiasts can't get enough of the treat. The Instagram account, Adventures in Aldi, posted a picture of the croissants with the caption, "I'm sorry, but these butter croissants look amazing!!!"

Fans have plenty of ideas

The photo from Adventures in Aldi is generating lots of excited reactions from Instagram users who have tried the product and customized it in different ways. A fan mentioned that the croissants are great without any add-ons, but if you are looking for something special, it is definitely worth eating them with maple butter. Another Aldi fan has interesting advice for others. "We stuff ham and Swiss little mustard [into the croissants] and [heat them in the] toaster oven for few mins and you think you're in Paris," they wrote.

Someone else suggested heating the croissants with an air fryer for excellent results. For another Aldi shopper, the Specially Selected All Butter croissants are great with a generous serving of Aldi Chicken Salad. A commentator joked that they need help because they have almost managed to finish the entire box of croissants on their own.
