The Jonas Family Is Bringing These Southern Food Staples To Las Vegas

If watching the Raiders compete at the sparkly, new Allegiant stadium isn't enough to make you want to book a plane ticket to Sin City, then maybe the latest news from the Jonas family will be. According to People, the Jonases are preparing to open Nellie's Southern Kitchen at MGM Grand early next year. The Las Vegas restaurant will be the second restaurant locale after the family opened their first location in 2016 in Belmont, North Carolina (via FSR Magazine).

Kevin Jonas Sr. and his wife Denise, who are the Jonas Brothers' patents, are in charge of the effort to open the 11,000-square-foot restaurant where guests will have a chance to taste some of the family's recipes. Nellie's is even named for a family member, Nellie Jonas, Kevin's grandmother. Nellie is remembered by the Jonas clan as an "incredible cook and a gracious hostess who focused on simple, fresh ingredients and on making people feel at home," according to the Nellie's Southern Kitchen website. So, what will diners be eating when the Jonas family's second restaurant opens next year?

Guests can expect to find some tempting Southern fare at Nellie's Southern Kitchen in Las Vegas

While the official menu for Nellie's Southern Kitchen's Las Vegas location isn't out yet, guests can bet on making their choices from a menu similar to the one at the restaurant's original location. Kevin Jonas Sr. told People, "When you walk in, we want you to find that Southern hospitality and comfort that my grandmother represented." From the looks of the restaurant's Belmont menu, that comfort comes in the form of hearty fare like fried okra, biscuits and gravy, shrimp and grits, and fried catfish (via the Nellie's Southern Kitchen website). There's also an option called the "Hawg Hill Plate" that may have your mouth watering just from the description: "Pecan Smoked Pulled Pork or Smoked Portabellas, Coleslaw, Four-Cheese Mac, Pickled Onion." Swoon. Obviously, sweet tea is also on the menu.

As if there were any doubt, the restaurant will also feature live music. At the Belmont location, the restaurant even has musical entertainers on the staff (via FSR Magazine). "In the Jonas family, we all encourage music at the table so we have a small stage in Belmont and will have an even bigger stage in Vegas for live performances," Kevin Jonas Sr. told People. This news for the newest location of Nellie's Southern Kitchen is especially exciting because on a Vegas stage, especially one owned by a family chock-full of musical talent, there's just no telling who might drop in!
