  • Although not a cook herself, Andrea find herself most comfortable in the back of the house, hanging out with and learning the stories of folks behind the scenes.

Experience

Andrea has always been a writer, "publishing" her own books as a child with nothing more than a writing tool, construction paper and a stapler. After fulfilling her dream of attending The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she moved to the nation's capital to become the next Woodward, Bernstein, or at least, Carrie Bradshaw. Over 80 resume submissions later, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts gave her a chance in the world of special events, marketing, and public relations. After a decade in D.C. helping everyone from presidents to everyday people plan events, she returned to her beloved Blue Ridge Mountains, where she was a food and culture reporter for one of the last printed independent weekly newspapers, Mountain Xpress. Here she spent years interviewing chefs for her own column, "Fresh Dish," as well as writing about Asheville's music scene. She is currently staying with family on the Gulf of Mexico, where she is working on her first fiction novel.

Education

Andrea received a Bachelor of Arts from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Hussman School of Journalism and Media. She also holds a certification in Protocol Officer training from the Protocol School of Washington.
