The TikTok Recipe That Had Gordon Ramsay Channeling His Inner Uncle Roger
Chef Gordon Ramsay is showing a different side to his personality via his TikTok account. Unlike his usual blustery behavior on "Kitchen Nightmares" and "Hell's Kitchen," his 35 million followers tune in to watch as the celebrity chef reacts to cooking successes and disasters. Other clips include him cooking dishes or just displaying his sense of humor. According to People, the 56-year-old embraced the concept of social media, saying it does wonders for the hospitality industry because reviews are live and circulating in minutes as opposed to traditional print media. "I love the exposure that social media brings to culinary," he told the magazine. "It's a great way of staying on your toes."
Also making a career from observing the cooking styles of people on social media is comedian Uncle Roger (aka Nigel Ng). Variety reported that Uncle Roger rose to fame after his commentary on BBC Food presenter, Hersha Patel after her attempts at Chinese cooking. He continued observing famous chefs make the dish, interjecting his opinion of whether they were doing it the correct way or not. One of those videos happened to be Gordon Ramsay — also one of the few Uncle Roger deemed as having a near-perfect technique. Both TikTok stars have since formed a relationship, with Uncle Roger making an appearance as a Hell's Kitchen guest in season 21, episode 3.

According to British Comedy Guide, there will soon be an Uncle Roger sitcom from Gordon Ramsay's production company "Studio Ramsay," but in the meantime, fans are thrilled to see the two interacting via TikTok. In a reaction TikTok video posted earlier this month, Chef Ramsay watches on as TikToker @myjanebrain demonstrates a rather horrific-looking meat patty shaped into a face. She proceeds to crack eggs into the eye sockets and mouth and surround the face with chips, which she says she's turning into mashed potatoes. "Turning into mashed potatoes," Ramsay say, "What are you doing to me? Young lady, you need to see a doctor." He then says Nigel Ng's catchphrase, "Haiyaa! Uncle Roger help me!"
One respondent said, "chips into mashed potatoes is just crazy, Gordon even had to bring in Uncle Roger." In response, the comedian also posted a TikTok reaction to @myjanebrain's video. While he is also horrified over the ground meat face with eggs, he is more horrified over the adding of chips and cream to a frying pan and saying she's making mashed potato. "You making mashed potato with potato chip," he says. "This the whitest thing Uncle Roger ever see." One commenter said, "Oh Uncle Roger and Gordon collaborating...my year has been made."
