The Super Mario Bros. Restaurant Will Blast You Back To Your Past

Have you ever dreamed about exploring the Mushroom Kingdom? Well, in order to get there, you now just have to book a trip to Los Angeles ... sort of. The fictional hometown of the portly, kooky, cheerful Italian plumber — plus his twin brother, crush, best buds, and arch nemeses — has been transformed into a new attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood's Super Nintendo World. "Mario Bros." fans from around the world are making their way to the new park, which celebrates its grand opening on February 17, 2023.

Food lovers may be looking forward to the opening just as much as gamers; when guests get a craving for a treat between rides, they can enjoy a festive feast at Toadstool Cafe. Whether your favorite character from the franchise is Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, or Yoshi, there are plenty of dishes inspired by these heroes and villains, as well as the signature settings they traverse, at the quirky Super Nintendo World bistro.

Toadstool Cafe is a 'Super Mario Bros.' fan's dream

Before digging into the main course, Toadstool Cafe customers can boost their appetite with a Super Mushroom Soup, Yoshi's Favorite Fruit and Veggie Salad, or a plate of Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots. Entrées include a Mario Burger, a Luigi Burger (which is actually a grilled chicken sandwich), Fire Flower Spaghetti & Meatballs, and the Chef Toad Short Rib Special. And who could forget about dessert? Indulge in a Princess Peach Cupcake or a slice of ? Block Tiramisu or Mt. Beanpole Cake. Even the drinks, including the Super Star Lemon Squash, exalt the legendary game, while a giant mushroom doorway leads guests into Chef Toad's 250-seat restaurant.

With the upcoming Super Mario Bros. film — aptly named "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" — starring an all-star voice cast of Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black, Seth Rogen, and Keegan Michael-Key, the California theme park's newest eatery is yet another recent "gold coin" for fans of the game series. But before you gather up your fellow damsels in distress, anthropomorphic dinosaurs, and everyone in between to say, "Let's-a-go!" Instagram commenters who have been to the park advise making a reservation at the restaurant in addition to booking a ticket to Super Nintendo World.
