A Pennsylvania Chick-Fil-A Hosted A VIP Date For One Couple

Among the many fast-food restaurants in the country, Chick-fil-A is an American favorite. Whether it's the chain's famous fried chicken sandwich or its top-rated customer service that keeps people coming back for more, Chick-fil-A is one of the most popular fast-food franchises in the United States.

For Pennsylvania couple Fred and Betty Abdon, however, it's romance and tradition that pulls them back to Chick-fil-A every Monday for a date night. Even when restaurant dining was obsolete at the height of the pandemic, the senior couple, who have been married for 72 years, grabbed their meals to-go for an outdoor date. Betty told Pittsburgh's Action 4 News that it doesn't matter if there is snow, rain, or wind, the Abdons honor their tradition regardless of the circumstance.

Recently, the Chick-fil-A location that the Abdons frequent celebrated the loyal customers with an all-expenses paid, VIP date night featuring some romantic surprises.

Chick-fil-A went all out for the Abdons' date night

It's not every day that someone arrives at a fast-food restaurant in as much style as the Abdons did. Fred and Betty's local Chick-fil-A coordinated a limousine pick-up from their residence to escort them to their weekly date night. Customer loyalty program? More like customer royalty program!

Once they arrived, the Abdons were seated at a table draped in cloth and topped with vases of blossoming flowers. To match the ambiance, the couple dined while enjoying a quaint performance conducted by a barbershop quartet.

To top it all off, their local Chick-fil-A gifted the couple with matching tee shirts that read, "You had me at waffle fries" — a slogan that's sure to resonate with the Abdons' shared love for Chick-fil-A.

Speaking on the romantic surprise, Noriente Schmit, the Chick-fil-A hospitality director for the area told Action 4 News, "We coordinated a limousine to pick them up for their special date and we found out what they like to eat and got them some special gifts to make the date even more fantastic." And fantastic it was — Fred Abdon said he was "surprised and pleased" that his favorite restaurant arranged such a special evening for him and his sweetheart.

Here's to many more memorable Monday nights for the Abdons!
