Pasta In A Blender Is Making The Pasta Queen's Eye Twitch

A new TikTok pasta recipe worthy of being inducted into the Pasta Hall of Shame has been making the rounds on the internet, and it's terrifying, to say the least. As if we weren't traumatized enough by some netizens violating all moral codes when it comes to pasta making, people are now putting their pasta in a blender, robbing it of its identity and dignity, and us of our faith in humanity.

Nadia Caterina Munno a.k.a. The Pasta Queen took notice of the bizarre trend and shared a reaction video depicting how she feels about it on TikTok. In the video, a creator showed off an unnamed dish he had prepared using crushed pasta. Munno watched in horror as he shoved the unwilling strands of dry spaghetti into the blender. "My [eye] doesn't want to see this," she said while her eyes twitched in response. "Even the blender is taking a hit because it knows it's not supposed to do that."

Blending pasta is a TikTok trend

Since the blender wasn't fully complying, the creator added a little water so the culinary crime could come to fruition. Soon, the pasta was transformed into a gooey paste and the TikToker cooked it with cold cuts and a dollop of pesto. "That just looks like a lonely frog in a pond," Nadia Caterina Munno said, visibly frustrated. Echoing The Pasta Queen's sentiments, netizens took to the comments section to express their horror. "My jaw just dropped and I'm not even Italian," one TikToker wrote. "Don't worry, nobody likes him in France either," another user commented. "I may or may not have Italian blood but pasta in a blender ... I actually feel faint," a third user wrote.

Previously, a TikToker attempted to turn dry spaghetti into "fresh" pasta by crushing it in a blender to make "pasta flour." Two cardinal sins were committed: The pasta was broken before being turned into flour, and the creator took a big bite of the visibly dry pasta and tried to play it cool.

Forget putting it in a blender, even breaking pasta is a big no-no to Italians. According to what TV cook and food writer Silvia Colloca told the Daily Express, longer pasta strands should never be broken because it is easier to eat them with a fork and they pack in a saucier bite than the broken pieces.
