All The Free Food Deals In February 2019
There are two types of people in the world: those that look forward to February for Valentine's Day, and those that look forward to it for the Super Bowl. Is there an overlap between the two? Sure, because everyone loves a bit of free food to go with either.
Fortunately for everyone, there's a lot going on this month when it comes to free and almost free food deals. We're not just talking about all your favorite sit-down and fast food restaurants either, we're also talking about convenience stores. That's going to come in handy when you're heading off to those Super Bowl parties, and let's be honest — there's nothing wrong with a little pre-game snack.
The deals keep going for the rest of the month, too: burgers and drinks, coffee, snacks, and there's even the chance to get some free donuts. That one you're going to have to work for, though, and it's more of a bonus than a true freebie. What are we talking about? Read on and find out.
Wendy's
Valentine's Day is coming early from Wendy's — at least, it is when you place an order through DoorDash. Even better? There's lots and lots of bacon involved.
Between January 28 and February 4, all you need to do to get a free Baconator is to place an order through DoorDash for at least $10 worth of food. Use the code FREEBACONATOR when you check out, and that's exactly what you'll get delivered right to your door. Sure, you could share, but you could also just treat yourself. Go ahead, you deserve it.
If you've never used DoorDash, this is a great time to try. They're also offering free delivery on Wendy's orders with or without the free Baconator, and while you can only use the code once (per account), the free delivery will be applied to any orders during that time frame. Give it a go, and it might just change the way you do lunch!
Burger King
This promotion from Burger King is a little different, because it's not entirely clear what they're giving away — and that's the entire point.
For the first time in 13 years, Burger King is going to be broadcasting a commercial during the Super Bowl. In conjunction with the broadcast, they're also giving away a Mystery Box to customers who place an order through DoorDash. To get one, just place an order of at least $10 through the DoorDash app, and use the promo code MYSTERYBOX. Your box will show up at your address, and they're hoping you'll follow the instructions that are going to come with it. Will you? Even if it includes showing some restraint and waiting to open it?
As an added bonus, Burger King orders placed through DoorDash will have the delivery fees waived until the day after the Super Bowl. That makes it a great time to give DoorDash a try, and seriously... what's in those mystery boxes? The suspense!
McDonald's
McDonald's has a perfect deal going for that Super Bowl party, and as a bonus, you can take advantage of this one all month long. You'll have to order through their app, but when you get 5 McCafe beverages, you'll get another one free. Not a bad way to start the party, right?
If you're just ordering lunch at McD's, you should absolutely order through their app. All month long, any medium or large fry purchase will get you a free soft drink of any size. If you're looking for a real bargain, this one's probably even better than ordering a value meal — it's worth doing the math.
While you're on the app, they have something else going on at least through at least February 3. Every day, McDonald's offers a new deal to app users and they're giving customers the opportunity to cast your vote on what it'll be the following day. Every vote counts, and it's so easy you'll wonder why you didn't start using the app sooner.
Buffalo Wild Wings
This one's more of a public service announcement than a guarantee of free food, and it'll all come down to how the Super Bowl plays out.
Buffalo Wild Wings is known for their ads talking about how they can influence a game — for the good or the bad — by sending them into overtime. This year, they're giving it a pretty extreme shot.
Here's the deal: if the Super Bowl goes into overtime, anyone who stops into Buffalo Wild Wings on February 18 between 4 and 7 p.m. will get a free order of snack-sized wings. Sounds pretty good, but you might not want to hold your breath. Sports Illustrated notes that only a single Super Bowl — Super Bowl LI in 2017 — has ever gone into overtime.
Fortunately, there's still a good deal that customers can take advantage of every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until February 17, regardless of what happens during the game: $5 select pitchers at participating locations.
Dunkin'
This one's very, very different, and there's only a select few that are going to be able to take advantage of it. Fortunately, they'll also be getting a lot more along the way.
If you're the spur-of-the-moment romantic type, Dunkin' is doing something with you in mind this month. On Saturday, February 9, they're heading to Las Vegas to take over the Sure Thing Wedding Chapel. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the chapel is going to be decked out with some Dunkin' love, and the first 100 couples that stop by will get a Dunkin' donut bouquet. Use it for your wedding ceremony if you like, or treat it as a fun (and totally edible!) Valentine's Day gift.
If you're not heading to Vegas this February, you can still take advantage of Dunkin's love-themed donuts and a special, $2-deal on their 10-count donut holes. For a limited time, heart-shaped donuts have made their return, along with BlingSprinkles donuts, and a new donut featuring both cookie dough and brownie batter fillings.
Cumberland Farms
If Cumberland Farms is your go-to convenience store, make sure you take advantage of some of the freebies they have on offer alongside the purchase of something you might be picking up anyway.
All month long, you can pick up free Farmhouse Kettle Chips with any 20-oz. Coke or Dasani. A free 2.15-oz. Farmhouse Chocolate bar comes with the purchase of a few different sizes of Mountain Dew or Lipton Pure Leaf Tea, and there's even a few options on offer for anyone who's still holding fast to their New Year's resolution to eat better. You can get a free bag of Harvest Snacks or Fruit Crisps with the purchase of a Poland Spring or coconut water, or some free trail mix with the purchase of a Pepsi or Gatorade. (Size restrictions apply, and some specific varieties might be excluded — so double-check in-store before you get your heart set on something that's not a part of their promotions.)
Del Taco
It's no secret that most fast food places are encouraging customers to start using their apps and join their email lists, fan clubs, and loyalty programs. Del Taco is, too, and they're offering you a few things if you'd like to sign up this month.
First, download the app and you'll score two free tacos. Not bad, right? If you sign up for their Raving Fan eClub, you'll have the choice between two free Del Tacos or two grilled chicken tacos.
And as far as the club goes, that's just the beginning. You'll also get a free premium shake for your birthday, regular coupons and deals delivered to your inbox, and you'll also be able to sample new products before anyone else. Opt in to their "Inner Circle" (and don't worry, it's not as creepy as it sounds), and you'll even have the chance to help choose what goes on the menu and what doesn't. Free food and exclusive treats? Time to sign up!
BurgerFi
BurgerFi has been around for eight years now, and to celebrate their February anniversary, it's their customers that are going to be getting the gifts. For the entire first week of the month, you'll be able to head out, grab a delicious burger, and get some free stuff to go along with it (via Chicago Food Magazine).
On Monday, February 4, all loyalty members will earn double points. Then, on Tuesday, everyone can pick up a BurgerFi Cheeseburger, VegeFi, or a chicken sandwich for just $5. On Wednesday, you start getting to the free stuff: anyone making a purchase will get a free Freestyle beverage with their order.
Thursday, February 7, is shake day, and customers will be able to pick up a shake for just $2.50. And Friday's deal is even better, and it goes hand-in-hand with National Potato Lovers Day. Customers will get a free order of regular, hand-cut fries with their purchase, and on February 8, everyone's a potato lover!
TCBY
It's no secret that there are a ton of "national" days. (Mario Day? National Crayon Day? Batman Day? Those are real things.) Sometimes they're goofy, sometimes they're meaningful, and sometimes you can get some free food for them.
February 6 is National Frozen Yogurt Day, and TCBY is celebrating in style. Head into any location and pick up some free froyo, because you deserve it. The first 6 ounces is free, and there are a few stipulations. Toppings are included in the weight, and you'll be paying for anything over 6 ounces — so create your masterpiece carefully! But it's still a win, right?
And if you haven't been there in a while, you'll be surprised at all the options on offer. There are dairy-free sorbets, sugar-free flavors, flavors with no added sugar, and a whole bunch of options that are gluten-free. Between all those special varieties and all the flavors, there really is something for everyone. Roasty toasty marshmallow? Yes, please!
Pilot Flying J
You might not think of Pilot Flying J when you think of food, but when you're on the road, they can be a life-saver. They're the operators of a huge number of travel plazas, and if you happen to be travelling between February 3 and 10, they have something for you. All you need to do is download their app and you'll find a one-time offer for a free slice of pizza. And their pizza is no joke: it's baked on-location, and that free offer is good on anything from a standard cheese pizza to their supreme, mega meat, and their Limited Time Mega Meatball (via PR Newswire).
Customers who already have the app can get the deal, too, but if it's your first time using it, you'll also get a free drink of your choice. They're hoping customers keep using the app — and taking advantage of the other savings and special offers only available to app users. Given that there are more than 750 locations scattered across 44 states, it's pretty safe to say that no matter where you're going, there's one on your way.
Auntie Anne's
The smell of an Auntie Anne's pretzel shop is unmistakable, and it's one of those stores you smell before you see. Smell is definitely powerful, and if you've ever felt a rumbling in your stomach as you walked past this pretzel place, you understand. This Valentine's Day, they're offering something special to the sweethearts that visit.
On February 14, their Original and Cinnamon Sugar pretzels are going to get a bit of a temporary makeover (via QSR), and become Heart-Shaped Pretzels. Even better, from February 11 to the 14, customers can head to Auntie Anne's web site and sign up to take advantage of a Heart-Shaped Pretzel Buy One, Get One offer. You'll only be able to redeem it on the 14th (and members of their Pretzel Perks loyalty club will automatically get access), but plan ahead and make sure you sign up. Chocolates and flowers? They were so last year.
IHOP
When the craving for IHOP hits, you go and get their pancakes, right? You might think about trying one of their other breakfasts, but if you're the type who always just opts for the pancakes, now is a great time to get the best of both worlds.
For a limited time (there's no official word on when this is going to end, but Food NewsFeed says February 24), you'll get unlimited, all-you-can-eat pancakes with the purchase of any breakfast combo. Steak and eggs... and pancakes? Absolutely! The Smokehouse Combo... and pancakes? Eat as many of those fluffy, delicious, butter-smothered cakes as you want. The offer only applies to getting buttermilk pancakes on the side, but that's ok, right?
If you just want the pancakes, you can get the same never-ending stack for $4.99. (And no, you can't just bring a friend and give them your stack of pancakes while you get the breakfast. The promo is only per guest.)
Applebee's
Let's face it: February is pretty dull. Sure, there's Valentine's Day, but that's not a real break from the dismal, drab chill of winter, is it? Fortunately, you can head to Applebee's and get a little taste of America's ultimate party: Mardi Gras.
All month, their $1 cocktail is the Hurricane, a delicious rum-based drink that brings together passion fruit, orange, lime, and black cherry for a drink that's just, well... there's a reason it's one of the signature drinks of New Orleans.
Just how the Hurricane was created is up for debate, but Distiller says that one of the most popular stories is that in post-war America there was a shortage of whiskey, bourbon, and Scotch. There was Caribbean rum, though, and there was a lot of it that came into the Big Easy. There weren't many rum cocktails at the time, and ultimately the Hurricane was born (and we're so thankful!). If you've never had one, February is the time — but please, drink responsibly.
Chili's
If you're the type that goes to Chili's and fills up on chips and salsa even before your meal arrives, this one's for you. Place an order online, and you'll see an option for a free order of chips and salsa. Just make sure that gets added to the cart with an additional purchase, and you'll score this tasty appetizer for free.
Chili's also has something else going on, and it's just for families with kids under 12. Sign up for their My Chili's Rewards program, and you'll receive regular offers for free kids' meals with the purchase of a regular entree. Chili's knows what a challenge it can be to get kids to eat, so they've made a kid-friendly menu that includes things like pepperoni or cheese pizza, cheesy chicken pasta, sliders, chicken dippers, grilled cheese, and a cheese quesadilla. Go ahead, make eating out fun — and affordable. They don't even have to know they're in for free.
